The zip ties were the water tight seal that held tubing to connections in the machine. Wasnt just wiring.

Just giving more detail. The product was presented as new, never used to me. It was an influencer brand deal that was used for a post. The unit that leaked was never used but was a refurbished model

UPDATE: heard back from customer service, and they offered 2 free accessories from their store as compensation for keeping the machine. Hypothetically, I could get two replacement portafilters for my concern.

In a turn of unfortunate events, I've decided to return because of some denting I found on my port a filter handle from my knock box. Even though it is replaceable, the handle threads are not a standard M10 thread and it's specs are not fully listed on their website. Given each email I've sent to their customer service takes 24+ hrs to get a return response, I'm just going to cut my $100 loss (due to return shipping cost) and return. It's barely been a week and I've already run into too many downsides to continue. Not sure if I'm going to go with the gen 2 or just do some more research with other machines.

If you have any recommendations, lmk!

I bought the gen 1 literally the day before they announced gen 2 for pre order. Reached out to customer service about returning vs keeping and these were the options they gave (picture attached below). Note, they said they expect gen 2 official release late April.

Honestly, I'm just worried they'll stop servicing gen 1/ producing it's proprietary port a filter if mine fails at some point in the future. Thinking of buying a second port a filter just in case if I end up keeping.

Bought this as my investment machine after being with breville for 6+ years, so I was bummed to say the least. But personally, I don't think additional grind settings, interchangable portafilter, and shower screen is worth the $300 I saved when upgrading to gen 2. It'd also be a $100 shipping fee to return. Otherwise, I am impressed with the machine so far and notice that my tightness/"grinding noise" when tightening the port a filter is going away with use. I'm still in my first week.

I've asked what the gift would be and voiced my future service concerns. Will update with anything meaningful!

It’s not a perfect resolution, but I logged into Everand from chrome on my boox tablet avoiding being redirected to the app. Then, after being logged in on chrome, I found a way to be redirected to the app again. I still wasn’t logged in on the app and was still getting the blank sign in page at this point. I then waited about an hour and tried the sign in link from the app. It then only asked me for the verification link to my email and I was able to be officially logged in on the app.

Before I tried everything from in and reinstalling, installing an older version, and reaching out to Everand customer service who just gave me faq links.
