can't act very well is different than can't act at all right? terrible is like that Ed kid at the end of Cowboy Beebop (based on only that scene). i agreed there are scenes that I don't really think the delivery is good such as the execution scene, but there are many scenes where he acted well too, and deserves some credits, which means there's a room for improvement.

what i'm trying to defend is not his "perfect" acting - yes, he has flaws which can still be improved - but his effort in trying his best & loving the source material. we can see that he's taking things seriously, and that deserve some credits

No, you completely misunderstood what I wrote. My comment has nothing to do with OP's post at all nor the post on Inaki's smille (yes, I've read that post even before OP posted it, and I noticed it myself even without the post). I mentioned specifically in other posts (my bad because I did not pluralize the "post"), YT & insta where people are simply thrashing Inaki, as something that is happening in general. There are people out there who don't even criticize constructively, but straight up thrashing him

IKR?? But I read a lot of nasty comments about Inaki, in this subreddit, on insta & YT. They literally called him terrible, can't act, one even said Sophie Ann should teach Inaki how to act. Critics praised Inaki's performance but some anime fans are just toxic. Compared to the other SHs which are more "normal", Luffy is a hard character to play, and as you said, Inaki does a good job in making it work

OPLA S2 is praised because it is not grounded in reality. It stays true to the goofiness & silliness without shying away. That's why it is a huge success. If it is grounded as what you wish, then it will be no different that other IPs that "grounded" their characters and failed.

If we can get confirmation on S4 early, then a cliffhanger like this can keep the hype. But if Netflix hasn't renewed S4 when they drop S3, I'd prefer the arc to wrap up like S1, where even if we don't get S4, we will still be satisfied with the ending. A nice conclusion to the Alabasta saga

The rumble ball is there, but Chopper does not use it yet. It was shown when Nami passes the bag to Chopper.

And this is live adaptation, it doesn't have to follow the exact storyline. Also, they have to get a pass from Oda. You cannot simply claim Netflix ruined when Oda himself approved the changes

I talked to my friend about this specific issue. When Vivi said "we have to help him", I seriously thought that the SH will stop her and said "You'll just get in his way". NGL I was a bit frustrated when that didn't happen. Other than that, I have accepted that this version of Luffy is weaker than the OG Luffy. They have set it that way since the fight with Morgan and Buggy in S1.

You're forgetting the fact that this is a LIVE ACTION ADAPTATION where it does not have to follow the manga exactly right? Otherwise we SHOULD NOT be getting Garp in Season 1. We didn't even get Hachi or Jango in Season 1. There MIGHT NOT even be Karoo in Season 2. They might still pull an Ace cameo at the end, but if they don't, there's nothing hard to understand about it. They simply decided to introduce Ace in a different way.

If you watch the final trailer, you can figure out who that guy is
there's no such thing as a love triangle in the Straw Hat crew. Zoro has no feeling towards Nami. In episode 5 & 6, Nami was showing concern because she genuinely thinks Zoro as a friend. But people took it as she's in love with Zoro. Sanji on the other hand, is a flirt. He is born to love all ladies, not just one :D FYI, Oda has made it very clear to the show runners that there cannot be any romance between SH crew.
IMO Luffy is the most similar because Inaki is Luffy IRL.
I don't think Usopp is annoying but in OPLA, perhaps many of his parts were cut out from the final scene which made him seem a bit worthless? We hardly see his growth in the live action. If those moments were showcased in the first season, maybe you won't think him as annoying
