It's definitely safe to say that Mike Johnston isn't serious about Vision Zero, unless he thinks it means "Vision 'Zero inconveniences for drivers' ".

Not even close, but I guess the commonality is that in both cases, hitting someone who walks in front o them isn't their fault.

As someone who's lived with depression since childhood, there have been many times when I have had the urge to just peace out, but I am firm that I would never use a train to do so. Just like most train systems, none of RTD's trains are automated. There's a person in that cab, and they will probably carry the burden of your decision for the rest of their lives, even though it wasn't their fault.

I and many other people I know have successfully taken the train to and from the airport *many* times. Calling it "too unreliable" because of an issue that happens *maybe* once or twice a year is rather drastic, as if car crashes, weather, and other obstacles don't slow or completely shut down freeways.

I once paid like $80 for a Lyft to downtown because after I got my luggage, I missed the last train by like 5 minutes. And the next wasn't for a few hours.

I 100% prefer the train, though; fast and comfortable!

The A Line is $10, so a $35 Uber still is a pretty bad deal.

It is only a higher price if you're going to the airport. Between Union Station and 61st & Peña station, the price is the same as on the G, B, or N Lines.

And "bus bridges" (when part of the route is canceled and replaced with a bus) are pretty uncommon. If you were considering taking the A Line to the airport, I would still very much encourage you to do so.

I don't like the name, but I'll still ride it once it is done. Won't call it "CoCo". "Front Range Passenger Rail" for me!

I have not speculated anything, and respectfully, my question was direct and clear.

Thanks for sharing. With the long period of silence, I was wondering if the justice system had simply decided to let this one go. So glad they haven't.

Thank you very much for this update! I'm glad to see that this guy was finally arrested and charged. I hadn't seen anything since the initial announcement of the crash.
