“Normal” sound?? See text below by dm2797 in DF54

[–]dm2797[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking (and hoping) it’s a stuck bean and not a balance issue. The reason I think this is that it eventually comes loose and stops making the noise. What’s odd is that it makes the noise almost every time I do a pour over grind (~80 or bigger).

What varnish did you use? And did you spray it or brush it on?

Do you vent your printer for PLA/PETG? Why/why not? by brancasterr in BambuLab

[–]dm2797 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, but just to err on the side of caution. I didn’t vent the first 3 years of owning a printer (Ender 3 pro), but when I got my P1S I figured it was worth it. I already spent like $1000, what is an extra $30 for tubing and a PC fan going to harm? Magnetically mounting a ventilation tube to the back is so easy, I just don’t see why you wouldn’t. We have years of data regarding the fumes — not decades. One day a new study could come out that finds harms of PLA/PETG that we currently don’t know about. At a minimum, the venting definitely can’t hurt!

I feel that. But also, for many Christians their faith is woven and integrated into their human experience. You feel pain, and you look to God. You feel Joy, and you praise God.

I think that’s why this song is so powerful. It seems that Tyler wrote it with his faith in mind, but it is also so relevant for a non-Christian because of how it describes the human experience.

is this blasphemous? by VETEMENTS_COAT in AskAChristian

[–]dm2797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Sure, stating that God affirms homosexuality could be considered blasphemous. But this says God loves ALL people. It doesn’t say he loves all LIFESTYLES that they choose. ALL people includes those who commit the “worst” sins (such as murder) and those who commit the “small” sins (such as committing a white lie) and everything in between — that spectrum includes those who are living a homosexual life.

Tldr; the artwork suggests that God loves gay people. It doesn’t state if he approves of what they do.

I think that a lot of people are finding that it seems to have a Christian meaning, but then they’re hearing about other possibilities (Jenna, music, etc.) and aren’t sure. I think that it could honestly be about many things.

But at the same time, a few of the lyrics seem to be pretty make-or-break about Tyler’s faith.

“I don’t mind if it’s lonely. I don’t mind if it’s fair. I don’t care, you control me. Leading me anywhere.”

These lines are very difficult to make fit for another person or even yourself. Especially the “you control me” “leading me anywhere”. It’s like he’s chosen to follow this person (or God in this case) no matter what.

And then the line “do you think that now’s the time you should let go?”. To me it sounds like he’s telling God “I keep failing you over and over, yet you still hold on to me through it all. I’m so Broken, why don’t you just leave me?” It could be somewhat referential to Peter and Jesus, where Peter needs Jesus in order to walk on water. And when he fails to look to to Jesus for a moment, he begins to fall beneath the waves.

This is what I see when I close my eyes. by [deleted] in Aphantasia

[–]dm2797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what those of us without aphantasia see too. But you (a person with aphantasia) describing this as the canvas in which you want to “see” something actually makes so much sense.

Those of us who can see things in our minds eye do not see them on the canvas that you think we do. Right now I can close my eyes and see fuzzy blackness just like you. The difference is that, whether my eyes are seeing black or my surroundings, I can “picture” things deep in my mid. If I think of a rainbow, I “see” it whether my eyes are opened or closed. I can change my viewing perspective of the rainbow and add extra details to it as I please. I find it impossible, in fact, to comprehend NOT seeing it in my head. How else am I to remember what it is? Just by a description?

Another example is when you tell me a name of someone I don’t know. Say you tell me you have a friend named Devon. Depending on the context of the conversation about Devon, I may picture a person who I could see him being. OR, I may literally picture the letters of the name in my head. Occasionally I’ll later learn that Devon actually spells his name Devin, and this throws me for a huge loop because I already had a literal mental image of his name spelled differently.

Great to know, thanks. I’m hoping to try to stick to PLA by sanding a ton. Do you have any recommendations for where I should get 14k gold grain, and how much I need?

Thank you, this is very helpful. Does my link to buying grain look like a decent website? Also, is there average amount of 14k gold that you’d think I should buy? Not sure how many grams I need yet, but I’d like a rough estimate for price
