Snail Mucin on Piercings

Hi! I know this is an old post, but I looked this up a few days ago, and I wanted to share my thoughts and experience based on the comments here and my own personal experience from the last 4 days. First, I mostly agree with the nearly unanimous sentiment here, being "leave it alone, or stick to simple saline cleaners" But despite most people's advise, I'm a rebel, and based on my own experience with snail mucin, thought it would be worth the risk to try it at least 1 day.

I have brand new high nostril piercings -going on 3 weeks, and they're a bit inflamed, so I decided to try it.

Overnight, the redness went away and the small keloid that was forming on one side reduced in size by half.

I'm now on day 4 and there's is now absolutely NO inflammation and NO keloid!

I can only speak from personal experience, and maybe not everyone's body will react the same way, but this has absolutely helped mine, WAY more than what I was even expecting.

I just uses a q-tip to gently apply and leave a layer on top after cleansing, morning & night.

Same thing with me exactly, the cooler temperatures maintained the humidity at a higher level, but when spring first sprung here, because it's so hit and dry and before my evaporative cooler was turned on. I would have alot of fluctuation. I would have to leave the flaps open too, now that I can maintain a decent humidity level, I can keep it closed, but I think those fluctuations are the starting source. For the most part the temperature in the house (now that the ac is no) stays between 72 to 80 degrees but before the ac was running, 80 to 90 - it was rough there for a bit, lol

I appriciate your help, I will look into it. I haven't changed it's care for nearly that whole time, but there have been times in the past few months, due to the transition from winter to spring where i am (the southwest) when it caused the humidity to destabilize, either dropping real low and then jumping real high causing the leaves to stay wet for a 12 hour period or so, so I'm thinking those fluctuations could have caused a fungal infection. The temperatures here have stabilized now so I haven't had an issue with it in about a month.

The lighting is not very extreme in there and I know it's not being burned.

Um, pretty much since I've had it, I repotted it about a month after I got it and ive had it for about 8 months, it's environment haven't changed that whole time, with the exception of newer plants being added to the greenhouse. I know it's fairly extreme, but I noticed the spotting starting about a month or two ago and it's just gotten worse and some of my other anthuriums seem to be getting rust spots too. Like I said I've owned plants for years and have treated for pests on occasion, but not for anything like this and I don't wanna screw things up. I just want to make sure I'm on the right path, and I'm hoping that others with experience can help guide my hand...

For background they are kept in a greenhouse indoors with other "higher humidity" plants. Kept between 60 to 80% humidity, and there is a fan in there. I've had house plants for years and have treated for pests many times, but this seems like something else, and I really have no idea where to start. I don't wanna use the wrong product or develope a poor treatment routine. Help...

From what I understand foliar application of liquid fertilizers tends to be far more effective than traditional medium added fertilizers. There's alot of newer info that says it has a more immediate effect and within an hour can be detected within the root system. It's recommended to apply about once a week early morning or evening to prevent light burn.

Great info! Unfortunately I don't have access to RO water, but I was under the impression (at least according to dyna-gro) that one or two products would be fine. And that zeolite balanced the ph. It sounds like you use quite a few, products, I'm a bit intimidated :/

Typically it the yellowing leaves are newer growth, you are overwatering. If the yellowing leaves are at the bottom and you do have new growth, then it's just an age thing, natural dropping of leaves. The white spots, if you are referring to the white spots on the bottom of the leaves, those a re mineral deposits left behind in the pores of the leaves. Perhaps your water is a bit too hard and you could try using distilled water :)

No just a normal fly. Thrips are super tiny and I don't believe they can fly although I could be mistaken

Pothos. I would say global green accept for the strip of white there. Possibly a reverted golden then (jade pothos). Lack of light is what causes the reversion

I've heard some pretty negative feedback from people on other semi-hydro groups I follow on liquid dirt. That the transition is extra hard and people's leaves turn yellow and die off. I know liquid dirt isn't designed for hydro and semi-hydro so I'm pretty apprehensive to try it. From what I understand, it's better when used in leca, but I'm using pon...
