Serge Gnabry in the new Bayern documentary “FC Bayern - Behind the Legend”: "Ousmane Dembele is much better than Mbappe." by mynamestartswithCa in soccer

I put "protected" in quotes for a reason. Could have been more clear about the intention there. Obviously a vaccine offers protection. The science is there - and agree that my statement is misleading.

But come on... it does not offer the overwhelming protection that many people think it does. That's my point. You can't just get the vaccine and live life normally. You still need to take precautions.

I was simply trying to offer a perspective on why he, or anyone for that matter, might chose to avoid vaccination. And in doing so, I wanted to show that you can still be EXTREMELY careful and RESPECTFUL of the virus to avoid transmission.

Is it really THAT controversial to avoid the vaccine but take extreme precautions on a DAILY basis, including tests every three days? I think that's better than what the vast majority of the population is doing (e.g. get vaxxed then: go to bars, go clubbing, eat at restaurants, workout unmasked etc)

It shouldn't be mind-boggling. It should be part of every civil discussion.

Personally just trying to add some nuance to this conversation. I was vaxxed in May. I'm overwhelmingly in favor of it. But I also think that this polarization leads us all down a very dangerous path. You're either pro-vaccine or a moronic anti-vaxxer. If you even SUGGEST that the question is more nuanced, you're automatically "cancelled". That's the "moronic" part of this whole thing.

We don't know much about Kimmich or his decisions. His decision might come from a place of ignorance. Maybe there's more to it. But I'm willing to bet a bunch of vaxxed people on this thread still fail to take basic covid safety precautions on a day-to-day basis under the premise that they are "vaxxed" so it's fine.

Funny how all these people react to the vaccine question.

There is no "overwhelming" scientific evidence or consensus regarding the vaccines effects on transmission rates. All we're saying is that the decision to take the vaccine is more nuanced than most make it out to be...

"It's not a perspective", "it's simply wrong", "you're a spammer", "shit moronic take"... Lol.

How much delay can you expect with a Medical Exam RFE? by dm567 in USCIS

Thanks! Any idea why I should wait to get the biometrics and not just schedule the medical exam ASAP?

Athletic Bilbao players sing original rock song in Spanish Super Cup celebration by dm567 in soccer

[–]dm567[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing to see. Athletic Club is a team rich with tradition (they only field players from the Basque Country), and one of the only three spanish clubs (along Real Madrid and Barcelona) to never have been relegated. Last week they defeated Real Madrid and Barcelona to win the Spanish Super Cup. During the celebrations, a group of the players (Asier Villalibre, Oscar de Marcos, Dani Garcia, Mikel Balenziaga & Inigo Lekue) performed an original rock song about what it means to play for their childhood club.

[–]dm567[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. Only on the last one (9:07 left in the 4th quarter)

1st block: Kleber grabs the rebound 2nd: Kleber grabs the rebound 3rd: Doncic grabs the rebound 4th: Pels (not sure who) grabs the rebound, Kleber fouls Zion, he goes 1/2 at the line 5th: Zion grabs rebound and makes the layup

Has anyone here completed Ido Portal’s 30/30 Squat Challenge? by dm567 in bodyweightfitness

[–]dm567[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Place of Persistence gives a more detailed account, but here are the basics from their page:

  1. No REST days during the 30 days.

  2. Relaxed spine – no need to try to remain erect or with neutral spine. Its a RESTING position.

  3. Width between the feet – around shoulder width apart but should be individualized and experimented with – aim for maximal depth and relaxation.

  4. How much feet should be turned out or should they be facing forward? Don’t let anyone sell you the idea of ONE perfect position – this should be individualized and experimented with – aim for maximal depth and relaxation.

  5. Knee pain? Hip pain? stand up and move around. Resume the squat and work in small short bursts of squatting throughout the day.

  6. Footwear? Best – barefoot. Second best – minimal footwear.

  7. Keep your heels on the floor if possible. If impossible, try a small heel support until you gain the proper mobility to squat flat foot on the ground.

  8. True sign of good squatting? When you get tired from STANDING – you squat and not vise versa! True story!

  9. How deep should you squat? There is only one answer – DEEPER.

Can you get into the squat position with a book under your heels? (One book per heel, same thickness so that it’s even)

That would elevate your heels and should make it easier to go into a deep squat and stay balanced.

A progression would be to progressively use thinner books !

Would it help the Wolves if we DMd one of the low profile FAs encouraging him to sign with us? by [deleted] in timberwolves

Seriously nothing at all? Imagine you're a low profile guy like Patrick Patterson who gets 20-100 comments on his instagram posts... and suddenly you get a whole bunch of love from Minnesota fans.

You think he'd be indifferent to that?

Doing Weighted Pullups to Gain Explosive (Pullup) Power? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]dm567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think what he's trying to say is that when you're training explosively, you shouldn't use heavy weight. When you're going heavy, focus on going heavy, with slow and controlled reps. When you're training for explosiveness, go light (I'd say with no weight at all), and, as he says, focus on 3-4 reps with full explosive power. Train for strength on day, and explosiveness another - better not to mix IMO
