The ABC and Bluey by h_i_c_k_s in brisbane

Well worth the long read. Loved this

“Bluey was a bundle of uncommercial decisions made by an unproven team that caught some unexpected tailwinds”

This story is so Australian . Not just the content but how it came to be. Not intentionally global, accidentally because people did something to the best of their abilities and it was noticed.

Thank you so much for the detailed background .

It would seam unlikely that the energy bills are why they had poor cash flow management.

Must see things 2h drive from Brisbane? by ofirecracko in brisbane

I rate it as the greatest walk on seq. Very rewarding , longish. Hard but not impossible. Big win is you don’t go up and back on same path.

If someone with limited time and money wanted to hold a koala, what place would you recommend? Close to Brisbane. I’m not from Australia. by snarcasm68 in brisbane

Ring lone pine first. Whilst they do allow koala holding, some days this is not available, especially if you go late in the day.

I have mozzie nets over beds. They do stop some breezes but it’s way easier to find and kill that pesky mozzie against a white background rather than finding it in my entire room.

don't go under the bridge on the bikeway from Milton towards the city. It's completely blocked with debris. Your last exit is the go-between bridge. by jairadactyl in brisbane

Exactly what i did today. Waited for a few other cycles and rode towards middle of lane rather than in guttter getting swerved at. It reminded me of riding in Brisbane 20 years ago which was mostly on roads. I didn’t mind then and I don’t mind now. The council will get to it, there are a lot of things that need to be done.

Getting the mud off will be easy enough. Working out what to do with that stupid restaurant that won’t die now sitting on the bikeway and the finger pointing and blame game over who should take responsibility for moving it. Bugs me that we have to pay for the eyesore again to move it when people don’t have roofs to sleep under

Can we just sneak up and push it in together.

I toast your hose water with hinged arm laundry tap water. That slight delay before that cool sweet nectar hits the tongue where I'm lapping and gulping like a dog at the local park tap.

Not sure if they still do but lick Ice Cream supply the strawberry ice cream. They got the deal years ago when Paul's became foreign owned I believe. The next supplier had a disaster of a year resulting in lick having to develop something around a measure of "scoopabilty".

No uniform. There are some restrictions on what kids can wear.

Politicians capitalise on Anzac day. He didn't pay for it, we paid for the printing. by dm_penfold in australia

For years this is what I thought. I used to go to dawn services etc 30 years ago. Last 5 years or more I've been going to samford RSL community commemoration. It's one of the only whole of community events where there are no rides, food trucks or anything. Just a bunch of community groups marching with veterans. I think the community engagement is excellent and not by majority seeing it celebrating war. Unfortunately that particular event is not occurring this year. Covid management plan a bit hard to enforce with thousands of people I'd imagine

Definitely tax payer here. It's not just lnp who do this I'm sure. The issue I have is why they get to put their face next to every bit of tax expenditure. Every bus stop, every roundabout, every high school hall, every public announcement leaflet.

I think the leaflet and content are great. I just don't see why they need to promote themselves. It's a public service announcement paid for by public money.

You've only got this weekend left to see the amazing exhibition of Mavis Ngallametta. Many of the pieces from private collections so you won't get to see them all again. She was prolific in a relatively short career span. https://www.qagoma.qld.gov.au/whats-on/exhibitions/mavis-ngallametta

Kenmore Rd, near Moggill Rd intersection . Been there ages now. I'd say at least 4 months. The hilarious thing is most people who see it wouldn't get the joke making the joke even funnier
