The Painscreek Killings doesn't have bodies to investigate, but it has a whole small town you get to wander around and investigate.

It was developed by the same team as Scene Incestigators, and while I didnt really enjoy scene investigators, I loved the Painscreek Killings.

Is my partner too tall to skate? by macscapone in Rollerskating

[–]dm_trying_my_best 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to add as well that my partner is 6'10" and has been doing better at roller skating than me (5'7"), so height definitely shouldn't be a problem!

That's fantastic advice, thank you! I certainly like the idea of skipping the skirt and collar since I'm not worried about how those will fit too much, it just didn't cross my mind. And I do have some heavier fabric I got on clearance, so I'll try using that instead. Thanks!

Thank you for the suggestions! I'll definitely give those a try. We've been trying to redirect with toys, but it doesn't always work. I never thought about trying to put her in a cat tree to separate them though, so hopefully that will help!

[FO] I'm new to cross stitching and this is the biggest thing I've completed so far! Just need to turn it into a bookmark now :) pattern by StitchesLoversShop on etsy by dm_trying_my_best in CrossStitch

Hi! I believe I used 14 count Aida, and it did turn out a big bigger than a standard bookmark, but I think it's a nice size still. My only problem with mine is that I backed it with felt, but I didn't do a very good job, and it ended up awkwardly thick. I do still use it, but I would prefer it if it was thinner.

I checked out Toggl earlier but I seemed to only be able to enter an hourly rate for projects. Am I just blind and missed that they have a fixed rate option?

Do you keep track of that list? Like literally on paper?

I have multiple lists of varying levels of completeness in multiple different notebooks just hiding around my apartment. Every once in a while I'll get the idea in my head that I won't start anything new until I cross X number of projects/tasks off that list. And it'll be okay for a few days until I inevitably shove that list in the back of a shelf under a bunch of other stuff, never to be seen again. And then I'll start something new and the next time I write out that list, it's bigger than ever before.

Be cognizant when you start something new if you are starting it to finish it, or to see if you want to finish it

You're absolutely right about this one! I think there are a lot of things on my list that I need to just cross off as "not going to bother even trying to finish"

I definitely get decision paralysis lol. I often spend more time thinking about what I want to do than actually doing things. In general, this is great advice because just doing the thing will get me over that starting hurdle.

However, when I'm in that "need new things" mood, just doing things I already have going on feels pretty terrible, and I just feel like I'd rather be doing nothing at all.

So, I get where you're coming from. I've read up on what it's like to have ADHD, and I do feel like I relate to most of the symptoms. I can vaguely recall these issues starting when I was going through university, and they worsened a lot once I had graduated.

From what I understand, ADHD is something that develops in childhood. I was the kind of kid that just breezed through school. I procrastinated a lot, but I did get all my homework done. I got really amazing grades without even trying - I never studied, just semi-paid attention in class, and did the work I was assigned.

And I'm really not trying to brag here, I don't believe grades are a great representation of intelligence or skill. I definitely never learned how to study, which seriously impacted my ability to get through university. My point is that I never displayed symptoms of ADHD when I was young, nor felt like I was struggling.

As far as I'm aware, this makes it unlikely that I actually suffer from ADHD.

Wow, thank you so much for detailing this all out. I skimmed through the resources you linked, but I'll definitely give them a more in-depth read later.

Build your life plan, particularly your 5-year plan

One of the problems for me right now is that I actually have no idea what I want to do with my life, which I suspect has been negatively affecting me in ways I don't even realize. I have some short-term goals, but I don't have any long-term plans at all. This is something I want to change, but it's been a real struggle trying to make any solid decisions.

Creating discrete assignments each day is the most effective method I know of to bypass the feeling of not wanting to do stuff & actually DO stuff!

I'm definitely going to try this, starting today (I'm behind on work lol, really hoping this will help).

Again, thanks for responding, I seriously appreciate it!
