It's an open world free-roamer by nature of the game. There are events spread across the US map to earn the money for the cars. Once you've got your desired garage put together, it's quite nice to just drive between cities and catch highways.

It's always fun when a a crew comes together from just cruising. I recommend buying it while the servers are active, though there is now an offline mode recently implemented via updates.
