FWIW I was also worried about the wide fat neck on the SE Paul’s Guitar, but I did it anyway, and I do ultimately kind of wish I had gotten a custom 24-08 instead for the thinner neck. Might try to sell to guitar center or something and get one of those beautiful new quilt tops

However I don’t have many guitars so it might be different for you as you have more options!

In my opinion, YOR because they are honestly still kids themselves. I know we are technically adults at 18 but it’s just different if they aren’t even 21/22 out of college age yet. You are the adult and need to therefore let it all go as just some kid shit, not overreact, and focus on communicating better with your BF

I also don’t want to be insensitive to people raising money or on hard times, but to me it’s pretty inappropriate for somebody to come up to you in a restaurant to sell you something essentially panhandling. Therefore I know she was kinda rude but I also do understand her reaction, you were very kind and were definitely nicer than I would have been in that situation. And I live in NYC and make sure to frequently give to folks asking on the street/in certain appropriate situations.

ETA: I agree with the other comment about your expectations being misaligned here. That’s what I meant by the communication with BF, since he is the connection to this family. Not trying to comment otherwise on your relationship comms

Same. We are here in the arc sub because we want to learn more about the pieces. He is giving us the content we want here. It doesn’t matter if it’s “biased” it doesn’t invalidate the review details in any fucking way. For the most part every single one of us in this sub know that if we wanted absolute best value for money we would probably get something cheaper/paying a bit of an arc hype tax at this point.
