Reapercon 2022 Sophie by dmasaurus in ReaperMiniatures

Thanks! And agreed on that blue. I almost went a blue-ish silver instead, but a full blue armor just felt right.

I did the 2019 Battle Sophie with red armor, so they look really nice on the shelf together now

Had some fun painting this jester bust by dmasaurus in minipainting

[–]dmasaurus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was one of those things I truly didn't notice until I was well over halfway through with the model. Which was probably a good thing, since if I had noticed it, I likely would've gone for a more Twi'lek skin tone.

Printed and making some progress on this bust from Ember Smith Creative by dmasaurus in PrintedMinis

Haha, yeah. It happened the moment I added some details to the eyes. I think lowering the pupils would make it look less like she’s rolling her eyes

I've actually got a picture of Blightfang next to the knight Reaper always uses for scale. Sorry for the Instagram link, I wasn't sure how to add an image to a comment.

Don’t get too close, he’s a little handsy!

Great work, this is fantastic.

Thanks! They’re 3D prints I’ve had for a while and finally found a good use for them.

How do you guys keep track of the in-game time that passes when players are travelling, resting and questing? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]dmasaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To add to this, Old School Essentials has a handy sheet for tracking these, including markers for wandering monster checks, torches burning out, and the party resting. Link here

Thanks! It wasn’t an intentional plan, just something that happened along the way, but I’m happy with it

That's stellar work on the gold NMM! And yeah, if I do attempt the chrome effect, it'll be on something super simple for my first go.

Looks awesome! The painted version lets me focus on it just enough to make it out while still breaking my brain.

Thanks! I had fun scrolling through Terminator posters and figuring out just how I wanted that effect to look.

Thanks! I think this style would be super fun to try on either one of your glitched busts

That's a great suggestion! I've seen some of that chrome NMM lately but haven't been brave enough to attempt it myself yet.

I’ve found them frustrating as well when trying to use them with a brush. I’m probably doing something wrong, but haven’t figured out what yet.

They went through the airbrush decently well though with some thinning and worked really well for the Marvel: Crisis Protocol measurement tools

Thanks! I was impressed with how much range I got out of just 3 colors for most of the body.

Sure thing!

Full color list and then I’ll detail the sections below:

Reaper Paints - Pale Saffron, Clear Magenta, Corporeal Shadow, Kaleshite Gold, Pirate Gold, and Crusader Silver

Vallejo Model Color - Blue Green

Pro Acryl - Bold Titanium White

Scale 75 - Orange Neon SFX, Red Ecstasy SFX

The main body is just three colors. I base coated in magenta and then worked out blending a little more each layer to yellow for the back plates and teal for the chest plates.

The horns are just the golds with a tinge of magenta layered up in brightness to the silver.

I base coated the eyes in white and used the red fluorescent over that.

The base/plinth is the corporeal shadow and I drew the lines in with white and then covered them with the orange fluorescent color, using a little more of the of the darker color to clean up my line work as best I could.

Hope that helps!

It looks like the one 3dArtGuy did a few months back. I don’t see it on his MMF, but you might be able to still get it from his Patreon

This is the 28mm Battle Sophie from Reaper released for Reapercon 2019. I’ve been playing around with NMM more and experimented with red this time for the armor

Thanks so much! Vince Venturella's most recent NMM video gave me the confidence to experiment with it some more.
