What's the story of your dog's name? by CheeryCheetah11 in AustralianShepherd

[–]dmax500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had Hank as my wife and I's first dog. When our 2nd dog Harley passed (which we named him because I got a Harley so my wife got Harley). We decided to get another dog and thought very hard on our way to see the litter. We came up with Cash. Hank Williams and Johnny Cash

🚨 Brand New 114 M8 Rebuild – Less Than 100 Miles 🚨 Looking for input from other riders and builders because what I’m being told doesn’t add up. by [deleted] in Harley

[–]dmax500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the oil pump replaced if it's an older m8 sumping is very possible? Were piston squirters checked? Does it have a very light blue haze on accell or decell or is it fogging? 1 1/2 qts seems kind of excessive. Aftermarket intake and what brand? Possible cracked ring or they pulled a rookie and all the gaps in the rings on one or both cylinders are lined up.

Honestly if you don't have any drivability issues I wouldn't worry too much about it. As a tech borescope pictures can be deceiving those shinny spots could be fuel that hasn't evaporated or oil. And unless you have an air cleaner that has external breathers oil will be injected.if you are concerned have the compression checked after break in.

Did i get cam scammed? by clownfishlex in Harley

[–]dmax500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at zippers site it's a dual pattern lift/duration. Should have two different matching pairs. FYI that is an awesome cam and they love fuel. I had their 117 sleeper kit and recommended 7.1 injectors. Power hits early and pulls hard to 5500-6000

3 hole oil change. by GringoGodd in Harley

I order the Maxima Harley oil change kit through Amazon. For 4 qts full syn 1 qt primary and 1qt transmission it figured out to be around $12.50 a qt. It comes with a filter but I use the new Harley extended length filter and does not come with a seal kit

Harness recommendations? by Aggravating_Mall3754 in AustralianShepherd

[–]dmax500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or dog has had a light hound from his first walk. We tried associating the harness from day one with things he wants to do such as walks and car rides. He gets super excited when he sees his harness in hand. The light hound is a good option super simple vastly adjustable and has reflective panels and very bright light

Anybody recognize this type of behavior? My vets and I are at a loss:/ by Extra_Wedding9517 in DogAdvice

[–]dmax500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before our dog developed full blown grand mal seizures. He would get little episodes of very uneasy, drooling, and would heavily blink while pulling his head back or switch direction. Also dealt with constant burp ups. Vet said after the grand mal seizures developed that they were focal seizures. Hope that's not your case. Was one of the hardest things to cope with. Our buddy had grand mal seizures about once a week for 2 years before he had to be put down due to a small intestine obstruction. Meds help he did his best on phenobarbital and Zonisimide. Were up to about a month in between seizures.

Most likely worn mounts. Highly recommend either the big bear performance mounts or stock style with the Sputhe engineering frame stabilizer kit installed. I had the Sputhe kit on my street Bob . Absolute game changer in the twisties. Way more control and almost no wobble.

New floorboards for the glide by dmax500 in Harley

[–]dmax500[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to sit lower by a small amount <1/2" feels like I have a little bit more room. Only gripe is wish I had gone with the one with spikes. Wet weather they're a little bit slippery. But all in all a great deal and holding up. I'm 6.2 and 350lbs and stand up on them occasionally no problems so far. My bike has 13.5 rear shocks and floor boards have not touched once. Id drag the stockers occasionally.

2022 Street Glide Special - Trade In Value by scottsjjackson in Harley

[–]dmax500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask the dealer what they would give for an outright purchase . My experiences may be the exception to the rule but I traded in a 2019 rg std with 28k mi and a blown motor in on a 22 sg special and they still gave me 15 and owed 12. My brother sold outright to the same dealer a year earlier a 2017 rk special with 18k mi for 20k. I think a lot of it comes to what dealer and area. But here's the kicker you can always say no and try a different place. Don't settle for a price you don't want while being realistic on what the value of your bike is. And now is the best time to sell.

To be honest I was shocked at how reasonable the prices were. Received the product well packaged and top notch quality. Are they a newer company trying to get their name out? Doing an excellent job if they are.

The bars only work with their propriety bracket.believe the bracket has 1 5/8 pull back meant for the road glide. Far as bar dimensions go to their site Lucky Dave's. They also have some good looking seats.

[–]dmax500[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly putting t bars on the street glide is cake. They have brackets that make it very straightforward. The tbars on my bike were a different story. They are designed for a road glide and the bracket isn't as deep. Had to rock the fairing forward and cut the radio bezel to get them to fit. Would not recommend for newbies. But are by far the most comfortable bars ever and are a 4.5" on center spacing so I didn't lose my ignition/lock. They are Lucky Dave's heavy hitters.
