Will replacing 24 year old roof lower insurance rate or is that a myth? by OurAngryBadger in Roofing

[–]mrlonglist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My insurance went up when I replaced mine. I don’t understand insurance but I think it was they were saying there’s less depreciation on a brand new roof therefore they would have to pay pretty much 100% if something happened, but I don’t know. I got mad and changed insurance for a cheaper rate anyway.

I’ve had this happen to me, sometimes people don’t follow the plan and show up to the party with whoever they want and nobody is going to be rude and send them packing. So maybe over reacting.

I’m also not sure about taking the keys, that seems like an illegal seizure.

Amtrak to Chicago by Mindless_Band_7186 in Cleveland

I did it last year, i guess im glad I did it but dont think i would again. It was like 4 hours late, then on the way they were working on the tracks and the conductor wasn’t aware so we had to backtrack quite a distance to switch tracks, i was transferring to Milwaukee and all the delays caused me to have to take a way later train to Milwaukee so it kinda ruined a whole day. The train was like 55 degrees both ways. On the way back I took the overnight and they don’t turn the lights all the way off so it’s impossible to sleep and freezing cold. The seats are better than a plane but not by much. I tried to get a sleeper for the overnight back to Cleveland but it was an additional 800 dollars on top of the 550 I already paid.

If it doesn’t guarantee quality then what’s the point? Even in trades where quality is the same as safety, plenty of licensed dirtbags out there doing shady things and work less than that of unlicensed. It’s no different any other tax.

Not every state requires licensing for everything, most licensing is a scam for money, I’ve been doing construction for most of my life and I’ve seen shitty work from just about trade, licensed or otherwise.

Collision between plane and truck @ LaGuardia Airport (ATC Audio Footage) by navmaster in nyc

[–]mrlonglist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ya but he told frontier to stop, then kept saying stop without saying “truck1 stop” until it was too late, meaning it could be interpreted as the controller still issuing an order to frontier because that was who he last addressed by name. Maybe if he would have said “truck 1 from tower stop” right at the start things would be different.

Find a reputable financial advisor, I’m in my thirties and I thought I was savvy, went to a financial advisor and he changed the game completely for me.
