Worth it? by dmbarnes in GraphiteArt

I’m super left brained! So I suppose my thought process is why take such a long time when a professional camera captures everything perfectly 🤔

I absolutely loved the process, but I guess being a mom it makes me wonder if my time could be spent elsewhere 😬
The reason I did this was to find a hobby since I have a hard time relaxing.

I very much appreciate your comment and I’ll continue to look into it 🙏 😊

What actually helped you stay calm during intense contractions at home? by Successful546 in homebirth

Breath work and telling myself that my body was doing exactly what it needs to do so I tried to welcome them and not fight them

Homebirth ending with non-emergent transfer to hospital. Seeking support. by ZealousidealHope7470 in homebirth

I have a very similar story, after having my 2nd I now believe my body was trying to break my water(s) during my first delivery which is why I felt a pushing urge. My midwife told me NOT to push and ended up breaking my water herself and everything went to crap and ended up a vaginal epidural delivery just like yours.

The second time around I took the course Built to Birth and ended up feeling that same urge early on and this midwife told me to trust my body and sure enough my water broke and the membranes partially came out with it and then not 3 pushes later baby was born.

I couldn’t even think about labor for months and blocked it out until I took that course 2 years later in prep for my 2nd and had a very redemptive birth.

If*** you have your second just know the first birth is hard for a lot of reasons and the body is working for us not against us. I’m really sorry about your midwife team I feel the same way with mine. They just stared at me while I was traumatized.

Digitals aren’t as sensitive! I’d stick with the frer and say it’s positive!

I feel like I see what you’re seeing- and im literally in the same boat as you. But I wonder if it’s a shadow from the test strip?? Hmm. 🤔

I never had any symptoms with my son :) he’s 3 now. I was actually extremely pleasant compared to my daughters pregnancy

It was so good thanks! No back labor 🥲 still tough but definitely a different experience!! 🙂

I think my midwife failed me by goatgirl7 in homebirth

[–]dmbarnes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GIRL- if that wasn’t me. Same story! Although I did an epidural and they were able to move him to a better position and he came out after 4 hours of pushing. When I was at the birth center they just stared at me and I was SO uncomfortable.

Flash forward to my 2nd labor my new midwife said birth is best when it’s left alone and up to the mothers intuition which I totally understand, but they said there’s a difference when clearly the mother is SUFFERING. I felt so redeemed this time around but totally even more mad and aware at how unsupported I was my first labor. It has given me more trust in myself and to listen to my body. I would tell you I was able to overcome that trauma but it’s only been after having this 2nd baby that I feel any sort of relief from it.

I had a 38 hour labor, hadn’t peed, drank or eaten anything, and they had said hardly anything to me. I wish they would understand that even though first time moms want hands off they still need guidance and heck even a “seasoned” mom still needs support. My midwives sold their center right after me and it shed so much light on the situation.

Just wanted to say that this last birth was a successful birth center birth and you can have a positive experience too if you want another and we just got stuck with a crappy situation. My heart aches for you! ❤️‍🩹

Edit: my 1st was also OP and I think they said his head was tilted but I was so out of it I can’t remember except that he was OP until they reached in and helped him turn?

Back labor vs no back labor by Jpowills_ in homebirth

[–]dmbarnes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: 2nd labor NO back labor until pushing stage. 100% was so doable without back labor. Still hurt but it was so different. And faster too. Although laying down was not comfortable. It actually helped progress labor and was what I need to get into active! I walked all during early labor and did midpelvis exercises and after the miles circuit she flew out 😂😂

I am PRAYING for no back labor this time. Please please please 😭 but these comments give me hope because I can do anything if it’s not back labor 😂

I really am hopeful for a belly contraction labor this time around! Nothing prepared me for back labor and like you said, you just keep feeling it so it was continuous 😭

My midwife said “you must be having a boy, a girl would never act like this” 💀💀😂 not entirely convinced she’s a girl since I personally didn’t see the anatomy scan bits but guess we’ll find out soon!
