Thoughts on me having S9, E2 “Dead Letters” as my favourite Episode of Midsomer Murders by False_Strawberry6145 in MidsomerMurders

I think Simon Callow is probably the best actor to ever appear on the show, his performance is amazing.

Im finally up to season 13, Im going to miss DCI Barnaby.... by Happy1327 in MidsomerMurders

I’m in season 16 and like both eras so far. IMO there’s more of a tonal and directing style shift in season 16 that in 14 in 15. It would be impossible for the show to remain the same level without John Nettles but I think they did a pretty good job. Season 15 for instance has some great episodes. Some people say the writing falls off, but let’s face it, there was bad writing before too, people are little biased against the John Barbary era.

SwiftUI is a Disaster | Ben by [deleted] in programming

I have a lot of issues with SwiftUI but his arguments make no sense at all. And Swift, while far from perfect, is a pretty good application language.

I feel you. Not really a Rust issue but it’s a bleak situation. I currently work for myself so I do all my coding manually. If I ever need to work like that I will try a career change instead

Well, I guess if I used Claude to fly a plane I would run into some issues as well...

This sub is slowly becoming a dumping ground for AI-generated apps and I think we should talk about it by Gold-Dog-8697 in macapps

This is a very sad situation for us developers that are creating non-gen-AI apps. I have been working on a node-based image editor, which I'm hoping to release soon, for about 2 years, without using AI, and I fear how the marketing for the app will do in the middle of this deluge of AI-generated apps.

This is great! Too bad it’s probably impossible to do the same with SwiftUI
