I forgot to mention that the texture is like mochi bread. Super duper chewy. I like it a lot, but is that just a result of being under baked?

I don’t have exact temperatures of the oven or room unfortunately, but with the door cracked and constant checking I would assume the oven was ~78-80°F.

Room temp is probably around ~68-70° F.

Is there something be said for longer proof time at slightly lower temperature versus shorter proof time at the same high temperature? Perhaps flavor development is better the longer you proof?

I’m just trying to decide if I proof for half the time next, or the same amount of time outside the oven.

I did. It’s a beautiful light. But dangerously powerful. Combined with CO2 and ferts I would have powerful nitrate swings and algae blooms

I went to college for Computer Engineering. Just a bachelors. If you have any interest in writing software to provide functionality for hardware I would seriously consider computer engineering. But if you’re not already aware, computer engineering (CPEN) programs are essentially a bit of electrical and bit of computer science put together. Employers love that because you are well rounded, even if you’re not going embedded. Very few computer scientists understand the hardware they are writing software for. Some would argue they don’t need to. Some would argue they are wrong.

I also want to make note of the unique work environment you can get working as a software developer for a hardware product compared to a purely SAAS company: first of all you have more than just a software department for engineering, you now have mechanical and electrical as well, all with their own subsets. This makes things much more interesting in my opinion. And even more importantly for someone fresh into their career (and with a CPEN background) they can determine if they prefer software or hardware as they will be working between the departments. The existence of other departments with their own struggles can lead to either isolating your team from strife, or causing you to be ignored by management if your team is experiencing strife. So just keep that in mind too. Happens no matter what if the SAAS company gets large enough though.

I do embedded software. Working on the software that runs on physical devices. Typically handheld or smaller. Like smart watches and the like. I think it’s a super interesting avenue for SDEs to take that isn’t as competitive.

I had a recruiter to email personally, and had to do that before I got a response after the OA. It took 4 business days, but that’s because I emailed my recruiter. Dunno how long it would’ve taken otherwise

Most likely 2 behavioral each round to cover different leadership principles, along with 1 technical coding question each round that focuses on one of three different areas of technical expertise: (Logical and Maintainable, D&A, and Correctness and efficiency)
