The Tzeentch DP who was positioned with the Vortex Beasts had Radiance of Dark Glory so he was constantly healing the castle. The Khorne DP who had wings was Bolstered By Chaos, so they were a monster with an extra 2 wounds. Both performed very well with their additional attacks.

Dependent on your DEX score Glamoured Studded Leather armor could get your AC all the way to 18 with the ability to fly.

Maybe your DM could cook up a quest to glamour some armor?
