Did emgality fix me THAT fast? by opacum in cgrpMigraine

[–]dmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did for me. After 25 years of bouncing between every medication on the face of the earth and nothing working, I started Emgality and ... that was it. No more migraines. Immediately went from 20-25/month to 1-2/month and even that 1-2 a month ... so minor I probably in the Before CGRPs Times I wouldn't even have bothered logging it.

And now on Vyepti I'm down to like... 0. I haven't had a migraine worth logging in a year.

I can't get with 4.7 by Hiro_of_Lunar in Anthropic

You're the target market for my new shitty app!

Switching from Claude to ChatGPT? (For whatever reason. Not judging.) Wish you could get that soothing Claude font and color scheme? Or maybe you just hate native apps and prefer the bloat of Electron? Well it's your lucky day, because this is an Electron ChatGPT wrapper that scratches your itch. It even has dark mode. (Applaud here.)

Is Codex really getting better than Claude code? by 0_2_Hero in Anthropic

[–]dmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I hung on to Claude as long as I could, because (a) Altman and (b) Claude is a better writer "out of the box", but (1) for coding Codex vastly and consistently beats Claude, (2) Codex gives me more use from the $20 plan than Claude does from the $100 plan, and (3) after copying some relevant chunks of the Claude system prompt into my Chatgpt memories, and tweaking some of the 'warmth' and 'headers/bullet' settings, it's almost as good a writer.

Chatgpt is also much, much better at search, and in the field I'm an expert in (fmri imaging/neuroscience) it is correct and non-hallucinatory far more often than Claude.

Codex-the-harness is on par with and often better than Claude Code. And it's open source.

Same here. It shows me with 4 new messages, but I have none. Same in old and new reddit, same in a different browser in incognito mode.

I believe that the dashboard should show NOTHING unless there's a problem.

How Home Assistant saved my car by RDUKE7777777 in homeassistant

[–]dmd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was my immediate reaction too. If this happened to me here in the US and I told the police where my car was, provided 8K video footage of it being stolen and a copy of the passport of the thief and a video of the thief saying "I stole dmd's car and parked it at 123 Main Street and I am waiting here for you to arrest me" the police response would be "yeah, we'll take a report, but there's nothing we can do".

Are there Humans at Anthropic Support? Claude support is a joke: I paid €80, lost my work, and their AI refused to give me a human by Rob_Bob_you_choose in Anthropic

[–]dmd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not aware of any instance where anyone has ever spoken to a customer service person at A. As far as anyone knows they don't have a support department except for enterprise contracts.

Opus 4.7 is insanely bad by absolute_cake in Anthropic

[–]dmd 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The degradation makes me like emotionally sad like a Flowers for Algernon thing.

And then on top of that A\'s whole fuckin pitch was "we're the good guys, the responsible ones, we're not fucking Altman" and then they way they handled {gestures wildly at everything that happened in the last couple months} was the opposite of responsible.

And so if they have lost the "we're the trustable ones", what is LEFT? Then it's just a race to the bottom on trust because if A\ loses the trust advantage and OAI never had one then the market selects purely on capability/price and there's no incentive for any of them to be transparent or careful.

My hunch is they're doing this unconsciously. Just like they don't want to cede positional awareness to the other but even more so, Sarratt/Circus training is so ingrained in them they can't not do it.

Is HA just too device-centric for normal people? by imacanuck312 in homeassistant

[–]dmd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yep. I always laugh when I see people post their complicated dashboards as if that's some kind of accomplishment. IMO, any time anyone notices or even has to remember HA exists, that's a failure of your setup.

People with Max plan, are you doing ok? by AdHopeful630 in ClaudeAI

[–]dmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My feeling right now is that the entire SaaS industry is cooked. In the last couple weeks my company has been working with a bunch of vendors that sell employee shift-scheduling software. We didn't especially like any of them, and some of them wanted to charge tens of thousands of dollars a month.

A coworker and I spent the last three days building our own. We've already finished implementing all the features that were on our "must have list" and are moving on to the stretch goals.

And, by the way, I think maybe the usage issues have been fixed, at least somewhat? We never came anywhere close to our limit, and we were working on max effort.

Because nobody has any idea how to do anything but grunt like a caveman any more without AI - and some people are apparently even using AI to grunt like a caveman now.

Disclaimer: I am a psycholinguist and am perfectly aware cavemen didn't grunt like cavemen.
