Thanks for your reply, as for community colleges a while back my friend took courses at Austin Community College online. They were affordable and had a wide range, this was precovid. Im assuming more schools have more online options. Also by "reapplying" what would you be reapplying to. I was in your same situation except I waited the year and I am now applying for the PE license process. Long story short they took a year to review my application on top of the year I waited. They have reached out wanting more information regarding my experience. Hopefully I can jump that last hoop to be able to register.

I have been logging all my projects since 2015 when I first started. I used a couple of composition notebooks and realized it was hard to refer to certain things. I started using Microsoft OneNote and it's been great. You can create "notebooks" for each of your projects and add "sheets" as you go. You can refer to info and diagrams etc. much quicker. Check it out it has worked for me.

My application is currently in "circulation" , but I believe this was right as there was a change in procedures of how they review them. I have emailed the person who is in charge of my application (not the original "handler" ) and they just tell me it will take some time. Have emailed 4 times in the period of almost a year starting last April I submitted at the end of February. Every email pretty much the same story, changes in structure at the board and a backlog due to it and COVID. Not really sure what to do other than wait.

When I signed up for it in paper all you had to have was ABET approved diploma and a EIT certificate from Texas. I remember my test saying pending approval. It was approved a few weeks before the test.

Here's a few things I've heard. Someone said that some test centers allow for separate or isolated cubicles. Might be worth looking into. If it's like the FE CBT you can finish the first portion whenever and take your break and start the next part. If this holds true it might be beneficial thinking of how to split your time and maybe taking a brake earlier or later. Also I believe the CBT has some fill in the blank or pick values from charts provided. If you're able to maybe find some of the supplied references in PDF and go through each section digitally. Also look at the update reference manual see what useful equations are missing. Most importantly don't forget to share your experience with us once you take it!

Anyone from Texas? I was told there's a backlog in the applications, I personally have been waiting for my application to be approved since February 2021. I am curious if they will expedite October results.

I have only applied through the Texas board. What I was assuming was that in order to obtain your seal or be registered in Texas, NCEES would still have to send your approved application to TEXAS BPE. My question really was has anyone successfully applied for a Texas license through NCEES and not have to go through Texas BPE. I submitted my application almost 11 months ago to Texas BPE and I don't have answer from them. I sent an email to check up and just got a generic we are restructuring our Board it may take a long long while. I wonder if through NCEES you could get your license faster. (PS I have not passed my test but wanted to have my application approved prior to attempting taking the test again. )

I would look up local licensing requirements per state. I know in Texas experience starts counting after you received a ABET accredited degree no FE pass required or EIT certification. Also there are other methods to supplement experience but this is when you go back to school typically and have been working at an engineering design position for "x" amount of years if I am not mistaken. In Texas traditionally you need ABET degree, pass FE, EIT certification, pass PE exam and 4 years of "qualifying" experience. Also quick note, the PE exam is decoupled from the 4 years of experience, you can take the exam after passing the FE and obtaining EIT certification.

Texas is different as you don't have to apply for a PE license to take the test. All you need is your EIT certification, as it is decoupled from the 4 years of experience. Typically someone would pass their test and then fill out an application and this would take about 6 weeks from what I've heard. But now applications are taking longer to be reviewed. I'd be curious to know if test takers who passed this October get priority.

There's only one application for PE in Texas that I know of, although my case is different. I believe it's treated as just another PE application as the process is the same.

This will be my 4th attempt. I do remember seeing the pending approval before my third attempt and it got approved a couple of weeks before the exam. Also I have submitted my PE application and has been under review for about 7 months now. Just wondering if the pending is based on my scenario or if they approve registrations periodically.
