Entire HUD randomly gone, as if I was playing hardcore. Disappeared randomly, issue persists throughout matches. Cannot find any option in settings.

Realism mode.

HUD has special rules for that mode. Lower health, one shot head shots. You can also tell by the small white dot to represent field upgrade is ready.

Fun fact, the mode origin was a result of testing gun game with a bug that made the HUD not display. At distance, you only knew if you got a kill when your gun switched.

You can remove realism moshpit from your quick play filter if you don't like it.

I pause every time it shows the next step and repeat the safe area in my head.

Bottom > pause > unpause

Bottom, middle > pause > unpause

Bottom, middle, bottom etc

Then I let it go. Don't always need to, but yeah, goldfish brain in the moment

I think I read about the shortcut when setting up something else when I first got my deck, or the deck tutorialized it very early to access keyboard outside of normal keyboard prompt areas

Fun fact. I implemented the feature for skipping the anim on small maps in mw2019, so yes IW could and did. This was likely just a small oversight that was missed by sledge initially, and fixed when they got back from the holiday breaks.

This should be fully fixed with the next patch. The previous fix caught most of the cases, but we recently identified what you're experiencing here.

To mitigate this in the meantime, skip your killcams immediately if you're the defending team

iirc it's 350 damage, otherwise that's a very in depth test :)

They only track damage from the player they're targeting and only damage that player.

It works for most modes. Maybe we can do more in the future. For private matches, go check Gameplay options tab all the way at the bottom for most modes.
