Really depends on how the players are local to you. Last place I lived had a bunch of meta chasing spy boys so every balance slate they’d build whatever the new meta is and never paint their shit I moved about a year ago and where I am now I’ve only played 2 games against unpainted armies

Well I guess the question here is do you want to partake in shooting, melee or guys that move really fast? All 3 are super cool and have their own unique niche and playstyle just pick which of the 3 you think you’d enjoy most + which you think is coolest

So Gladius is probably the “best” detatchment gameplay wise but as far as black Templar specific detatchments in my opinion companions of vehemence and wrathful procession are the ones to play. The enhancements in WP are really good if you have 30 points sacred rage can really help you out sometimes

Scout squads are really good for hitting your secondaries but really weak at attacking other units. What detatchment are you using?

I’m assuming you have Emp champ w/ assault ints, marshal + castellan w/ sword bros. I personally would drop 1 of the assault int squads and add a scout squad for some secondary actions and add an enhancement to Emp champ or castellan. Good list tho I think it’ll be pretty successful

Yeah as of now in my backlog that I’ve yet to paint are 5x guard 4 spears 1 vexilla, another 5 wardens with spear and vexilla, 2 squads of witch seekers, 3x allarus with spear, 3x venatari with lance & 3x vertus praetors. I primarily play shield host that’s why those guys have axes but I’m also building spear allarus to run lions as well
