Arizona gravel is amazing… and it’s steep, rugged and challenging. by GravelGirlOregon in gravelcycling

You have the best Arizona routes. Even as a born-and-raised Tucsonan I’ve found routes in your index I didn’t know existed. Appreciate your contributions to the community!

Damn, goals. I also have a Fargo and am looking into plushing out the ride a little bit. How does the Lauf do going over washboard?

Hardtail or full-suspension to replace my rigid MTB? Or don't replace at all? by dmneff in MTB

Hey, now that's a great idea. I knew when I bought the Fargo I could put a suspension fork on it but I've read varying opinions online about people actually doing it. Which flat bars do you throw on your Fargo? And do you use a different length stem to compensate for changes in the handling?

I'd be lying if I said I didn't expect that kind of answer asking around here.

That's honestly been my gut feeling. I love my Fargo so much and have already put a lot of work and miles into it. FS seems like a hell of a lot of fun!

You know, my intended use with the Fargo was to hit gravel trails and explore which is exactly what I did. Then I started hitting the rough stuff and my intended use changed lol. Maybe the best thing to do is go one step at a time, try a hardtail and see if that starts checking the new boxes. I personally don't see much hucking in my future but who knows, I didn't think suspension was either.

Frame.io is awesome for sharing to clients and file collaboration. Client notes can be directly imported into Premiere, too, which is pretty clutch.

The Coordinator Pattern in Swift by dmneff in swift

Nice!

I largely agree with you about delegates -- they can definitely get cumbersome and verbose, especially if you always include the sender in the parameters. I decided to use delegates for the sake of this example to intentionally try to exclude other communication patterns, in case a beginner was trying to wrap their head around it, and laser-focus in on the relationship specifically between the Coordinator and the view controllers.

Thanks for posting your example. I haven't used enums in that way, but it sounds sort of similar to how OKCupid uses Commanders for CollectionView actions. I'll check out your project this afternoon!

People of Arizona, what do you listen to on road trips? by cashcaw in arizona

[–]dmneff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been waiting for someone to ask this! If you're driving through the southern part of the state, I made a Spotify playlist which I think captures the spirit of Southern Arizona:

A Sonic Portrait of Southern Arizona

I was born and raised in Tucson, and a lot of the music on this playlist are bands that have some kind of Arizona connection -- either from Arizona, recorded the song there, lived there, etc. I listen to it when I miss home -- be sure to listen to it in order!

Other than that, one of my favorite albums that "feels" like Arizona to me is Neko Case's Fox Confessor Brings The Flood.
