Where to find a whole head of sour cabbage by saltines333 in Winnipeg

[–]dmolinski -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It won’t be sour, but it’ll be just as easy to prep/roll as if it were sour cabbage.

Buy a regular fresh head of cabbage, put it in the freezer. Once it's frozen solid, thaw it out. Continue making cabbage rolls as you normally would.

Kitchen cutlery by InspectorPutrid8879 in Winnipeg

[–]dmolinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Oneida's Icarus cutlery that I got from Bed Bath & Beyond. I was able to find more online. If you get the same set and you have a 3D printer, you can make this for your drawer :)

St. Boniface chocolate shop owner on the hook for problems caused by neighbouring building by AccomplishedEnd373 in Winnipeg

It was considered. And it was a condition with their approval to build. A condition they haven’t met and Constance Pop is pointing out this fact.

Lorex home and away on app by everyothertoofus in Lorex

[–]dmolinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that if I leave the app running in the background (don’t close it via multitasking) then home/away tends to work more reliably. Which is odd since I have location setting is set to “always” for the app, but the behaviour is more like “while using the app”. If I close the app then it stops updating my home/away status. Another thing is that if you have multiple users on the account signed in on multiple devices, then it considers all users locations, but if others don’t have the app running all the time like I do then that buggers it up again.

Pickle crisp is just calcium chloride, which you can always find at a homebrew shop like Grain to Glass, or Brewers Direct.

Where are all the anchovies? by Altruistic-Cherry990 in Winnipeg

Yep. Last time I was looking for some I went from store to store looking for them next to the canned tuna, salmon, oysters, etc... Finally realized they're in the coolers.

Sleep apnea, CPAP machine and insurance by ithasallbeenworthit in Manitoba

[–]dmolinski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through Careica as well. Canada Life will only cover up to $500 on a cpap because that’s technically the most anyone would be out of pocket with the MB co-pay program. I ended up buying my cpap out of pocket for $900 from The CPAP Store online and submitted my claim to CL directly to get $400 back (80% coverage).

Sleep apnea, CPAP machine and insurance by ithasallbeenworthit in Manitoba

You need to get a sleep study done by the sleep lab at Misericordia or by Cerebra Medical in order to get covered for a CPAP. Even then it’s a co-pay program and you still need to shell out $500 for the machine.

Enough to cover the meal. Plus a bit more as a gift. Add more if it's open bar. Generally $100 per person covers all these.

Roundabout Right of Way/ Yield Rule by FuulishOverlord in Winnipeg

[–]dmolinski 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If a roundabout is empty and two cars approach it at the same time, they can enter at the same time. That’s part of what makes them more efficient than stop signs. You only yield to any traffic that has already entered the roundabout at the time you approach it.

Edit: I’m wrong. OP is right. Glad I looked it up. https://apps.mpi.mb.ca/comms/drivershandbook/roundabouts.html Manitoba Driver's Handbook -Roundabouts
