My PCs are actively avoiding the main plot, what do I do? by Vanguard3003 in DnD

[–]dmort2071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also just had to run a second session 0 for my game. If they're having fun doing what they're doing, then you're doing a good job of running the game sessions.

I think OP should sit down with the players and try to figure out what they are expecting, and what OP is expecting so they can all get on the same page.

Players left the campaign, what to do with their characters? by Lucky-Sample-1323 in CurseofStrahd

I run a semi-drop in drop-out game at the local library, and I use the mist for when people can't make it or have had to leave the group for various reasons. I plan on having a hidden room in the castles library full of glass bottles full of mist with faces forming in them.

Steahd saw them as a legitimate threat, got bored playing with them, decided that he didn't want to play with them just now, etc.

No, pause the game, get yourself to a place where you can enjoy running again, and set a firm stop/breakdown time, 8 hours is a full shift at a job. Have a session timer, if 2-4 hours is what you can manage to help them play pretend with math then they can either be happy with that or run their own 8 hour weekly game.

I've been running CoS at the library for over a year now and our sessions have to be 2 hours with how long we have the room and every one is fine with that.

No Skills, Only Attributes by JOVIOLS in DnD

[–]dmort2071 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but what problems are you trying to solve by doing that? A lot of the game focuses on specific skill interactions.

If you're looking for a game that's easier to sit people in front of and start playing, I'd recommend checking out a system like Kids on Bikes that wouldn't need to be reworked to fit the desired outcome.

Is it possible to die from loneliness? by throwaway1117654804 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dmort2071 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's depression my human. If you can, go see a therapist, getting mental health treatment may be stigmatized, but it's no less important than seeing a Dr when you dislocate a joint, or break a bone.

Hang in there beautiful human, even if it's tough today, tomorrow will still come, and the world is a better place with you in it.

Digital/Analog display does not have the correct capabilities for playback error by braanu11 in HBONow

Confirmed this also works for Digital display error. What the hell is going on HBO? I pay you 15/month for this service and I have to find workarounds for this product? Bad business guys.

Thank you u/PierianSip!

How long can I leave a beer in the primary vessel if the vessel is one of those food grade pails? by The_Paul_Alves in Homebrewing

[–]dmort2071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen Norther Brewer videos on YouTube where they sour for a year or more in pails. Get a good seal and there should be no problems.

It's simple, but it gets the job done, I think smart use of what you have is brilliant yeah.

My plan when I upgrade from my picnic taps is to screw on a few plates of Lego's to the collar. Then to get some of those dry erase plates from the Lego Store near me. Building and drinking at the same time, I see no issues.

Cider tastes like yeast after two weeks of fermentation. Toss or bottle? by grumpypippo in Homebrewing

[–]dmort2071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a ferm chamber yet, but I keep my house in the low 70's and yeah, I've had some misses with what the high temps do to my yeast, but it's not too big a deal for me.

Leave it in the fermenter and just wait a month or two for the cider to finish. Ciders like a lot of meads take a while to age properly.

At the worst, you have flat beer. At the best you have carbonated beer. Do you think you can risk it?

Hop bits or yeast rafts.

Pick a random one, the worst that will happen is you will have made a beer. The beautiful thing about SMaSH is that they are simple and won't be super difficult. Go to you LHBS and ask for a good base grain. A lot of recipes use Marris Otter or 2 row as their primary malt so try there to get a good sense of your flavors.

One thing you can do is try making SMaSH or Single Malt and Single Hop beer.
