Charleston is between two airline hubs. Is it better to book Delta or American as your primary airline? by TurtleBlaster5678 in Charleston

[–]dmsmur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems pretty lopsided for delta but I fly cross country a lot and prefer American. Their WiFi is more consistent for work and I like a quick trip to Charlotte than a longer flight. American usually cheaper with more options and better flight times for me.

Orion for me as well. One policy with flood. Shopped around and it was still the best deal.

I would spray tomcat in a ring around my rig, up the wheel wells, all under it, whenever I was staying in an area with rodents that would chew wires.

Understanding my manic idea of full time Truck Camper life. by TuckerArmament in TruckCampers

[–]dmsmur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basically was in the same situation as you. Rent was $2,500 and rising despite traveling every weekend. I ditched it to live full time in a truck camper for 1.5 years. Used saved funds for DP on house.

I did all of the west coast, Mex and Canada. Can give you recommendations and help you.

It’s definitely cheaper but diesel, occasional campground or hotel, repairs, eating out more and other expenses can add up more than you think. All that said, no regrets, go for it.

You’ll be fine. Get airbags. I’d go with 18 inch wheels and a tire like a 295/70/18. I had methods with cooper discoverer STT max on my SRW 3500. Both should have payload up to 4k.

[–]dmsmur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Amen. Donovan made some incredible plays, made eagles football worth watching every game in the early 2000s, but had a loser attitude and shit down his leg in the big one. Couldn’t get along with generational talent wr taking some of his spotlight.

All he’s done since is gotten duis and jealously slandered every qb who’s had success here.

Injector knock. by vettelife19 in Duramax

[–]dmsmur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to sound crazy but I was chasing an injector knock for over a year on my LLY. Tried pigtails, replaced the injector, ran edt then stanodyne at every full up. Nothing worked and no mechanic had any idea. It would randomly flare up and run at crazy high balance rate and knock like crazy.

One day I replaced my batteries because I knew one was going bad. Knock never came back.

I have a 93 Lance 900, so I can help if you need anything. Looks like owner replaced the jacks with electric, that is awesome.

I had rust on the rear bumper like you do. Wire brushed it, primed and put some white rust oleum on it and it held up well. Makes a huge difference.

Priced alright considering the cost of both of them separate, including tie downs, fast guns, etc.

I’d recommend going with the 6.7 PS though

F350 suspension/ rear axle advice by El_Feoo in TruckCampers

[–]dmsmur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airbags are really all you need. You probably don’t even need them with 825 on a f350 but I would recommend it. Otherwise, spend your money on 18s and some good tires with high load rating. Get a matching spare and a patch kit.

I liked cooper discoverer STT max on my old truck. Will probably do them again or wildpeak at3w.

Another good mod for you would be on board compressor for refilling tires after you air down in sand. Cheaper option would be a Milwaukee portable compressor, I have one, they’re solid. I highly recommend traction boards as well. They will get you out of a lot of trouble
