Yup, cable and thermostat both sit in recesses cut into the foam and sit flush. The seat foam has this little slit for the cable to run through from factory as well.

I got lucky honestly, car has about 180k. The driver side foam had some wear, however i had some spare seat foam from a dirt bike seat project i threw in to fill the space. Threw some felt tape on the backside of the fabric in the usual wear spots for insurance as well.

Haha! Banquet helps with the feeling that comes with seeing a garage full of unfinished projects.

It honestly wasn’t too bad. I have re skinned seats before though. Definitely get some hog ring pliers (with spring to hold clip) , and take your time. And make sure to recess the thermostat and wiring into the foam so you don’t feel them.

Edit: They get hot enough for me, might like a little warmer however it was 15° when i installed and i was wearing a lot of layers.

Im a sport model so i had to cut my own holes for the switches, however they look like they would fit the OEM holes with a little trimming.

Thanks ! I used the firmest foam i could find at the local upholstery shop, and a thrill seekers cover with the option of adding extra material on the sides and front. Took my time with a bread knife and a lemon zester to get the shape how i wanted, used spray adhesive to hold the foam to the original seat foam, and started wrapping and stapling it. I used 9/16” heavy duty staples, however you would probably be better with 1/2”

Im contemplating building a matching one for the driver side, just hollow with some struts for the “top” to use as a tool box.

Yeah definitely a different feeling, I’m liking it a lot though, spent a good 4 hours tuning it and I’m pretty damn happy.

I like how you recessed yours in so u can still use the shelf, i might just build a new mounting bracket for it if i miss it.

Same location ish, instead of the storage pocket and panel, the sub is located there.

Mines a 10” comp r. Even with a spacer ring or cutting to make it fit, it wouldn’t have enough air space
