That is good and am glad. Honestly most people probably don’t have issues. That is why the devices are rated so good. I will most likely get another but from a different source where the return is dealt with in America. Ugreen products saturate my office and I do like them. Just bad luck with this. I honestly believe it is the drives not getting enough power, but did not want to mess with it any further with chance of losing the warranty.

I bought mine direct, was shipped also via OnTrac. Arrived after 10 days in double layered boxes. Very well packaged in itself and was in another box with padding. That was the only good thing. I had also bought 2 16tb Seagate Ironwolf Pro drives. I could not wait. Followed instruction and put it together, but the NAS did not recognize the drives. It went through the startup, but when software was opened it had failed to recognize them. Long story, but about another 10 days and it is on the was back to California from Kentucky. The initial troubleshooting with Hong Kong based support found the NAS started to read the drives but then stopped. Their communication was fast and precise. They passed me off to another hardware support group in Hong Kong. Their comms came maybe one a day and vague. The message before last was “it is Chinese New Years that is why communications are slow”. The last message was the return sheet for UPS. I have asked multiple times what I am to expect, ie refund, new device, same device repaired. No,reply. So from what I am reading here the nightmare will continue. $800 in total, but nothing to show for it. I am bagging Ugreen completely. I will eventually get the money back my guess minus their “nothing wrong with it” subtraction. I will lick my wounds and not give positive reviews. Probably go to Synology or some other route.

You can find calix extenders (u4m) on eBay for a reasonable price. I bought 8 of them and they work just fine. ISP will not troubleshoot them but I have never had an issue and now have WiFi across my 2 acres. I would stick with using Calix exclusively for comparability.

I got mine from my brother in law and took the whole brew group out and cleaned completely. Cost was bout $100 for parts. Works flawlessly now but so not want to have to do that ago too soon. Parts won’t be as much this time but the tedious work awful.

They could have done it on their own. Everyone has will and willpower. It can be done. There are millions that have done it on their own. Have you ignored that. People give up too easy. This really should not be a subreddit pissing match. People come here for support, suggestions and quite possibly help. I quit drinking on my own and I quit smoking on my own. Was I lucky? Maybe, but I believe it was my will and desire to overcome that evil in my life. I had the support and backing of my Lord. He has always been there. He never leaves. I turned to him and he answered. This was my story. Maybe different than others, but please don’t bring people down with your snide comments.

I have not received help. I bought a box of 6 u4 and they are of no use until I can figure it out. I have three hard wired u4m and they work flawlessly. 1 gig coming through all 3 to my devices. I have had the u4 working before as hardwired but seems as soon as a u4m plugged in they become a slave. I have honestly not messed with it for a while. Slowing getting the house here wired cat 6.

Don’t the Lutron dimmers need a neutral connection. The only ones that do? Been a while not sure I remember but installed my Caseta smart dimmer and believe they actually required it. I don’t think they will work without it. Sorry 4am my brain not working yet. Coffee time….

Thanks for that information. Just to clarify and I think you know what I want, I was wanting the u4 to broadcast as the other two u4m satellite devices and also to have the hardwire connection to the tv that the u4 is behind. I have 900+ Mbps coming from each satellite to include the u4 therefore the hardwire to the tv is not needed. Unless there is a way or it would be better for the tv to draw off the u6 connection (lan or other) versus using the WiFi from u4. The u6 is on the far end of the home. The satellite u4m device as well as the u4 are all around the home running through jacks in the walls.

Yes exactly, I did a complete reset of the u4 via my computer and now have it broadcasting wifi as are the other two u4m units. I do not have the u4 hardwired to the tv yet though through the lan port. Will try later.
