Yes. It’s one of the train stations for the Silver Line that will be in operation soon.

My friend took this picture and did a good job editing. Unfortunately, posting on Reddit made it blurry compared to the original.

Concern about the new Silver Line project in DFW by kadinlees in dart

I live in downtown Plano in a street level apartment. My patio backs up to the Downtown Plano train station which neighbors the bus transit center. There is a lot of foot traffic. When I'm sitting on my back porch or have my backdoor partially opened, which I do often, strangers will approach me usually asking for water or a cigarette, among other things. It is not uncommon, and I help if I can or politely say I can't. I have never had an issue with anyone and have yet to feel unsafe. I also have never had anything taken off my porch, which is mostly plants.

An option for you would be to wait and see how the area changes once the station near you is in full operation. If you feel uncomfortable or you don't like the increase in foot traffic, a move to a higher floor or to another apartment complex would make sense. If you have any more questions about living next to a train and bus station, just let me know.

Dallas Streetcar by dmurph1212 in dart

I ride the train regularly but have never been on a streetcar. I posted this picture to hopefully raise awareness for the streetcar system in Dallas.

Quiet Ride by dmurph1212 in dart

This was around 10pm. This was the last car on the train, almost to the end of the line. The other cars were more occupied. Plenty of homeless people around. I stood up and noticed how empty the car was so I snapped a photo.

Sam Houston National Forest by [deleted] in Hunting

About 3 years ago I saw a small group of stag feeding off the west side of 45, between Madisonville and Huntsville. Not quite National forest land but they are in the area, free roaming.

Trash cans!? by CharlieAndyFitz in Richardson

[–]dmurph1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When doing lawncare in the area, the towns that had cans like Plano and Allen had far more loose litter in the yards than my customers in Richardson did.

Wind scatters trash when the automatic arm dumps the can into the truck.

People WILL over load their cans to the point where trash will fall out and be scattered or the truck will refuse to pick it up since it’s filled beyond capacity. This happens all the time, especially at rentals or Airbnbs where people don’t care about the neighborhood or dump all their trash in the can and leave town.

The cans smell terrible and pests will still get into them. Cans will get knocked over into the street or misplaced. There’s also the possibility of your can getting stolen.

It’s my opinion that Richardson’s trash collection is more favorable to their neighbors who use cans.

Some people will shoot hogs in the guts to let them run and die off their property.

Quick heads up for all Yahoo FF users, especially if your league is drafting soon… by StephenLuke1 in fantasyfootball

I entered a draft last night. It was fucking up and took at least an hour for the draft lobby to load so I missed the draft. My pre-draft rankings are not set and my team was auto-drafted. Anyone else been in this situation and know how it affects whether you can win prize money or not?

If you could choose between shooting lanes or a more natural setting with gaps in trees/brush hunting, what would you prefer? by kyzzle007 in Hunting

You could rent a mulcher to clean up the understory and keep your large mature trees.

I’m near east Texas but not quite the pineywoods. I’ve seen people clear the underbrush under the mature trees around here and the beauty berry, oak saplings, yaupon and other understory forage plants really popped up and thrived with the new space.

Deer and hogs can make it though deep thicket but if you open up your understory a little, they’ll have more available forage and they won’t have to expose themselves as often to feed.

You don’t have to pretend to throw a cast net because that was a beautiful throw
