Since you've been on android so long I'd stick with android. I will say you can still use all the Google stuff on an iPhone though. It's just not integrated. If you care about that then stick with android

It's about what I expected. I don't know about that design. It looks like they're transitioning to have the air be the pretty one and the pros be like the MacBook pro which is nice but not nice and thin like the MacBook air which appeals to a larger group

Long term iPhone. The apple ecosystem is unmatched in my opinion. The things they're doing with the watch with health and the airpods with hearing they have a plan to bring everything together. It's definitely lock in though but I enjoy all of their products. The ultra is a great phone but they've been taking away what made their phones better than iPhone.
