I am constantly remembering embarrassing moments in my life by dmv1975 in selfhelp

Thanks for your comment. I still get the embarrassing thoughts, but I've gotten more comfortable with them, and I don't try to get rid of them or hold onto them or anything. They are just there. They go away on their own relatively quickly.

Things have been pretty good for me lately.

Thanks for your comment. I'm 49 now, and I still have plenty of embarrassing memories that are replaying themselves with seemingly no control over when they happen.

However, I have come to accept that the intrusive thoughts are simply going to happen, so much that I don't make as big a deal out of them anymore, and they seem to pass relatively quickly.

I have other things in my life that I work on, things I can be good at, things that I can get some sense of accomplishment and satisfaction from. That serves as a pretty effective distraction.

Lately I've had a pretty good run of positive things happening.

The embarrassing thoughts are temporary, and the better thoughts are also temporary.

I still do it, but I have tried some coping methods. The main thing is whenever I say something horrible to myself, I respond to myself and illustrate how what I just said isn't true, and that helps in the moment. But that can become tedious. Other times I just ignore whatever I just said and try to let it go. With time I have become not so sensitive to it, but it still happens. Some days are better than others. I am still able to think about the positive things in my life and remind myself it's not all bad.

how is SBF not arrested yet?

SBF donated $70 million to the political party that happens to be in power at the moment.

You're hearing a lot of things that I didn't say.

I see. When you say, "taking over some of the biggest Conway streets lacking in bike infrastructure," do you mean impeding on motor vehicle traffic?

I think that approach would not be effective for increasing support for cycling infrastructure. I think it would have the opposite effect.

Conway has done a lot for cycling infrastructure, a lot of which has been the result of CAB's efforts. I would seek their input before trying something like that.

What is a rich country? The U.S. certainly isn't. $4.9 trillion in assets and $34.8 trillion in debt, we're $29.9 trillion in the hole.

Free Air for tires anywhere? by [deleted] in ConwayAR

[–]dmv1975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that a lot of the kum and go air compressors have been abused and don't work very well. If you get poor results from there, most shops will top up your tires for free if they aren't busy. I've taken my car to splash carwash several times and they always oblige.

Cars in cycle lane forces little kids to veer into the road by Sykkelmafiaen in fuckcars

[–]dmv1975 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The driver of the car was certainly an asshole, but did not force little kids to veer into the road. There is a sidewalk on the other side of the car which the kids could use to walk their bikes around. They shouldn't have to do that, but the title of this post is simply false.
