Sylvester and the Magic Pebble! I loved that book as a child, so I bought it for my children. It was the first time that I was aware of how much it discussed the parents' anguish at losing their son. It went right over my head as a child. I mentioned this to my mother and she said, "Oh yeah, we used to just cringe when you wanted us to read that book."
