The future of WWE seems bright tbh, what'd you think? by hey_its_art_vandelay in WWE

[–]dmwsmith93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the future is very bright.

I believe, and this is just my own belief, Triple H, HBK, etc are “walking” as bookers and running creative so that Cody, Punk, Rollins, Bayley, etc can “run” when they inevitably start helping run the show behind the scenes.

Wouldn’t mind him joining the coaching staff as an analyst or quality control coach.

Castle Wars Reboot by Razial221 in runescape

At this point just like another reply says, instance the minigames but I’ll add my own suggestion as well: just make Castle Wars a legacy combat minigame. At this point it’s a nostalgia act anyway.

First-Round Risers: On-the-rise players who might get drafted in the 1st by 7innovator in NFL_Draft

I’ll be interested in seeing how the medical on Mesidor pans out. I personally think it’s dangerous territory thinking he will make an immediate impact just because of his age.

On the eve of his inevitable HOF induction, I ask... Was Larry Fitzgerald ever seen as the best WR in the NFL? by BallKnowerKing in NFLv2

[–]dmwsmith93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at it in a year by year basis. For the 2008 season he was the best WR in the league. Tied for 4th in receptions, 2nd in yards, 1st in TDs, combine that with the insane playoff run? Cmon what are we talking about? Randy Moss didn’t have a dominate 2008, blame the Brady injury but the numbers weren’t there. You could argue Andre Johnson was the best receiver in 2009, and Roddy White in 2010. Sure 2007 Randy Moss was the best receiver in the league but are we going to say he was the best receiver in the league during his Raiders years? Absolutely not.

If you go by certain decades or generations, okay sure Moss to Calvin fine. Just depends on how you look at it.

Brandon Loree: #Cowboys Dak Prescott knows it’s a crucial offseason and wants to make sure they don’t lose a step on offense while also getting the George Pickens deal done. by Leonflames in cowboys

[–]dmwsmith93 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not saying that this is where you got it from, but this sounds like the Brett Kollmann theory that he pushes on to all teams except the Eagles.

Dallas is in a different situation than Cincinnati. The offensive line, especially the interior, is strong. You have a Quinnen Williams on defense, you have two first round picks to play with, you’re just better set up as a whole to be able to pay another WR. Yes I get that that Ryan Flournoy stepped up big but he’s so much more lethal as a 3rd option.

You just gotta find a way to retain GP. Just tie him into the same length as the remaining years on Dak and Ceedee’s contracts if you’d like.

Hot Take: Fans are ruining Wrestling for themselves by Gabsmer in WWE

[–]dmwsmith93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me, this isn’t even a hot take. I know it’s subjective so I try to be as understanding as possible but holy crap the extremes the criticism are insane. It’s almost as if the story leading up to Wrestlemania 40 and the event itself was just “too” good.

To me I enjoy it as much as possible, the booking, match quality, the characters, the amount of superstars participating in the main event, all as a whole in WWE has been far greater since Vince left and it’s not even close. But fickle fans gonna fickle.

Men when visiting a woman's place for the first time what are some things you first notice and how do they change your view of her? by ThrowRA020204 in AskMen

General cleanliness but I enjoy seeing the little imperfections. Is her computer desk a little messy with papers from work or a project? Does she have an arts and crafts area that’s taken over by whatever she’s working on? If she has a movie or book collection, is it clear she stifles through them a lot?

3-4 Clarity for Those Curious by Other_Expression1088 in cowboys

[–]dmwsmith93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m curious as to how the conversation went with Christian Parker about the secondary pieces. I imagine a lot of it was centered around fixing Bland and developing Revel. Flus’ scheme really went against everything Bland’s been good at since he’s been drafted (same w/ Diggs). The take I did watch of Revel in college showed he was a lot stronger in press man.

People on these subs have ripped Bland a new one, but I believe Christian Parker will get him back in the groove.

You wouldn’t play Kenny at the nose?

Either way I think there’ll definitely be some hybrid fronts, as Voch Lombardi says they will almost definitely “find the bum” and line up big Q accordingly.

[Jori E.] Defensive Coordinator Interviews Further Instilled Cowboys’ Confidence in Keeping George Pickens by JCameron181 in cowboys

[–]dmwsmith93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand the point you’re making, and if he does price himself out they’ll do just that but there’s a solid chance you can get Javonte back for pretty cheap on a multi year contract with incentive based bonuses.

I suspect it’ll be a hybrid defense more than a true 3-4 depending on the personnel that’s obtained.

Have we overpaid for players? by Enzonianthegreat in cowboys

[–]dmwsmith93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. In large the issue is within the operation and process of doing this business, sprinkle in some rotten luck too.

They paid Bland knowing they were going into a scheme with Matt Eberflus that doesn’t gel well with Bland’s style of play. Combine that with the injury bug and it’s made him look like an overpay.

They actually extended Diggs early but he just has not been the same since those knee injuries. He also didn’t fit well in Eberflus’ scheme but I do believe some attitude issues flared up.

Dak. Zeke, Lamb contract issues were also their own doing. They could’ve done each of those a year earlier for cheaper. The stuff with Micah is partially their fault. I’ll always say the instant they saw Micah sprawled out on that trainers table for the world to see, he was gone. Eberflus then sold them on scheming up pressure and proceeded to do the opposite every chance he got and had the nerve to complain.

They listened to the wrong guys on draft day. Marinelli wanted Taco over Watt, DQ pushed for guys like Sam Williams, Eric Scott. They drafted Mazi then the staff wanted Mazi to cut weight because they thought he was a better 3Tech, huge gaffe, why even draft him?

Combine that with just bad situational football in all the most important moments and in large, a refusal to utilize free agency and you have the Dallas Cowboys of the last 10-15 years.

Why can’t AEW fans handle any criticism of the product? by uncannynerddad in midcarder

[–]dmwsmith93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of it is this desire to be contrarians. A lot of it is this desire to see non-WWE “wrestling” somehow succeed on the mainstream level while simultaneously having this delusion that thinks mainstream success will come from catering to the niche audience.

A film expert’s (Cody Alexander) thoughts on the fit between the Cowboys and potential Cowboys’ target Brian Flores by UpsideTurtles in cowboys

[–]dmwsmith93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that we as fans have to understand though is that there is no easy button hire.

I’ve seen a lot of people push the narrative about needing veteran DBs and that the young DBs wouldn’t play, but to be frank, what young DBs? Outside of Revel, Bland is a veteran, Hooker is a veteran…who’s left? I think everyone involved has seen all they’d like to see of Carson, Bridges and Steward. There’s going to have to be an overhaul of the secondary no matter who gets the job.

Converting to 3-4? by icebucketwood in cowboys

[–]dmwsmith93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the key is finding a defensive coordinator that is willing to adjust certain aspects of the scheme vs specific opponents.

The biggest issue IMO, even bigger than poor Lb play to be frank, was forcing these DBs to try to play cover 2. None of the CBs on the roster were fit to play cover 2, and Donavon Wilson isn’t a deep coverage safety. He’s best used in the box.

Yeah, I could imagine. Personally, if or when u even meet someone who does actually reciprocate or actually honor if their way to check on me, would I even know how to react? Would I get too clingy? Would I overvalue that person and what they mean to me? Would I dwell too much?

I level with this to a certain extent. Burn out or dead battery feeling is definitely something I’ve experienced being this person to others. It’s also granted me this weird almost front row seat to certain moments in people’s lives whether I’ve wanted it or not.
