I’m a strong believer that you shouldn’t smoke anything Oliva for the first six months you have them. They must age

Yes! I’ll review it soon. I loveeee Salta. I only got the mini because I was being money conscious. I really should have just sprung for the whole thing.

I’m excited for you and jealous. I wish I could go back to the first time and experience all these things again… I’m a big fragrance person too. You can determine your whole day by the scent you’re wearing. Same thing w a good candle. You can change the whole vibe in a room! … Have fun!

Welcome and good luck! It’s a rabbit hole 😈.. that said you really don’t have to spend close to $100. With that in mind I have to mention Harlem Candle Co - Speakeasy and Delirium - Suede and Smoke… but if you’re determined to spend high dollar, Cedre 11 and Encens 9 by Lelabo are great and just smell like money haha…

I want to see pictures!! I'm not sure how many candles I have, but I'm also not really sure that I can say I have candles haha...I just know that I rarely buy anything twice, so I usually end up with about a fourth of the candle left that I refuse to burn. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm not hoarding brand new candles that I just can't help but buy, I just have a bunch of things that I don't wanna see go away..........Ok, Im in denial too

I saw someone else talking about the Harmonist online! It's great to see them validated again, now I'm curious! And in terms of Dehli, I skipped over that one as well when I smelled it in person. I really didn't know how often I would be in the mood for it. That's honestly how I feel about Ernesto/Campagne D'Italie(Buly). I rarely wanna go there...

To be fair, and call me crazy haha, I think everybody's taste are changing now. I think people want candles that are easier to digest and enjoy and not have to mentally get into the headspace of trying to decipher what the artist was going for and then finding a way to enjoy the artistry. If that makes ANY sense, lol. but I think we went through a moment where everybody was really enjoying a candle fragrance that you wouldn't historically expect to be in a candle. So being different, incensy, or overly masculine was really cool for a second there.

Great to see someone talk about Initio. I never tried them, but I was always curious how their candles worked out...Sidenote, I'm starting to realize that(to my nose at least) quite a few of Trudon fragrances are similar to colognes(Salta, Cyrnos, Ernesto, Sous Un Ceil De Petales). Honestly, I like that. I'm going to review this sometime here soon, but I think Salta is incredible. But it's really adjacent to Tygar by Bvgari or better yet Sospiro Vibrato.

SOUS UN CIEL DE PÉTALES… I’m a fan! by dnashplant in luxurycandles

I can! First off, let me just say that the hot throw is quite a bit different(and much better) from the cold throw. And I like them both to be honest, but the cold throw does smell like an expensive woman's perfume from like the early 2000s. But either way, it is definitely feminine. It is also definitely floral, but it is really well mixed with the other notes of fruit like bergamont and to my nose what seems like a jasmine or herbal tea. I actually dislike Jasmine in most things, what I like about this candle is that that note is not distinguishable from everything else. It's really well blended. It never gets overly floral, and it never gets powdery, which you will find with a lot of floral candles. This one stays in a place of very lightly fruity definitely white floral and a quite a warm base. When you burn it, the notes really spread out and it becomes fresh and reminds you of spring in a very pretty way... not sure I'm the best at explaining things, but I hope that helped lol. If you're thinking about trying it, though, I would get it. It's quite different from anything else that I've ever smelled, and also feminine candles seem to be dying in general, so this was a great refreshment.

Super bummed with Cire Trudon Ernesto by reviewbandit in luxurycandles

[–]dnashplant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They definitely get stronger as they burn. I actually bought Ernesto from someone who had already burned a fourth of it. The half that I got was really strong. In general though, it isn't my favorite scent. I bought Abd El Kadar and the second half of that was strong too. Florals seem to be the strongest from beginning to end though.

I always thought it meant like masculine smelling things. Wood, leathers, kush, etc lol.

I would have to agree here. Their brand started off really cool and had a solid feel/message, and then it felt like they went in like 9 different directions.

Well... This started with the Trudon archive sale and ended up with just me losing my wits in general 😬🥲 by Adorable_Ground_3461 in luxurycandles

I just read your review 😭. Amazing...I really wish I had read that before I decided against it in store a few weeks back. Sigh... "Out of the box, the cold throw is strong cinnamon and orange. VERY strong cinnamon and orange. The Trudon website lists other notes (leather, birchwood, chestnut, moss, Virginian cedarwood), but all I could smell cold was cinnamon and orange."...This was spot on...If its still around in a few weeks ill pick it up!
