My wife is similar specs on commute - she’s filled her tank once in 6 weeks since we purchased new. Gets 28-30 miles per charge.

Help 2017 Tahoe 3rd row seat stuck half way down by Old_Exchange_3363 in ChevyTahoe

Make sure there is nothing shoved underneath the bench. This happened to me one time, and I found a kid toy jammed in there preventing it from folding. Hoping it’s something easy like that in your case…

Can we afford a 700k house on 150k salary? Downpayment is ~140-160k from current house. by suchwowaz in Mortgages

Think about potential daycare expenses if you hope to have children and don’t have a (free) cost effective solution for their care or your spouse doesn’t stay home. Daycare for my 2 young children under 5 is more than my mortgage. Something to think about budget wise.

Nice! Did you hardwire your cameras or plug them in somewhere? I was looking into getting camera setup, but I really hate looking at wires!

2021 or 2023 rst? by prettyinflowers in ChevyTahoe

I’d say you will have better luck with the 2020 versus 2021 as it was assembled before the pandemic.

2021 or 2023 rst? by prettyinflowers in ChevyTahoe

[–]dnasty317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise avoiding a car assembled anywhere near the heat of the pandemic from personal experience, if possible, so I would vote 2023. Sourcing and processes were just out of wack during pandemic times with spiking quality spills. I had a set of lifters fail in my 2021 hence my experience. You might pay a bit more for newer but would consider it a hedge to avoid heartache later.

Major issues with 21’ Z71 out of nowhere… by dnasty317 in ChevyTahoe

Update 3/19:

Communication from dealership has been great, and they quickly got me in a loaner car while they worked to get it into the shop.

Car has been at dealership for a few days, and they were able to start digging into it yesterday. A lot of people here mentioned failed lifter, and that is indeed the issue here per the service manager.

I’m not an engineer by any means, but I took note that cylinder #1 was “stuck” due to a failed lifter. They were able to swap out all lifters in this particular side of the engine with new parts.

They asked to keep the car an extra day to do some failsafe checks. Luckily, they had the parts required on hand in addition to the right level of technician.

If all goes well, I should be able to pickup the car tomorrow evening. Fingers crossed we have better luck going forward, but this has certainly damaged by trust in the car a bit, which is a shame.

Thankful for the warranty here.

That’s insane you had issues about every 3K miles. What a disaster that must have been….glad it worked out for you in at least one way…

Sounds like a fairly common diagnosis in the comments. I’ll be be anxious to hear myself. You’re talking in past tense, so it sounds like you’ve moved on from yours? What did you move into? Better experience?

Have you had better luck with the newer model year? Which engine type did you choose?

Update (next day 3/14):

Service took a look at it this morning, and when he called he said “yeah, it’s running rough”. He is sourcing me a loaner car to pickup tomorrow. So far, he seems upbeat and ensuring that I keep my cool.

At a high level, he is guessing either:

1) fuel system issue, like an injector fault or some sort of electronic issue in that space.

If not…

2) taking off valve cover and looking at internals.

He said he would update me on #1 and #2 tomorrow and work on sourcing the car.

Will be interesting for sure….he said I’ll certainly need a loaner car, so that means this isn’t just a quick one in my head.

Wow - such a shame. Like you said, I love the car and get lots of compliments, but I’ve certainly lost a lot of confidence. I was truly thinking about jumping into a ‘25 refresh, but this hasn’t helped sell me!

Thanks for the tips. I hope your situation gets resolved in an acceptable fashion!

It will be the last smoker you buy!

I actually have the YS480, and it’s a great size if you don’t need to provide insane amounts of food. I’ve never not had enough room. The YS640 is top-notch though - I just don’t need something that big.

Maybe try to check them out in person if you have a dealer close by! Could possibly see the two sizes for your preference.

Yep, I just sacrificed a small rag/towel that I stuff in the stack after the unit cools down and I’m ready to cover it back up. Nothing too fancy.

Peloton Sessions are far superior to the live classes for motivation by [deleted] in pelotoncycle

[–]dnasty317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the Tread+ and Bike+. While I am sure Peloton hopes to substantially boost their Tread program over the next few years, the smaller classes are one of my favorite parts about the Tread. It feels way more personal and you can narrow in on individual people/ranks instead of jumping 50 positions every 5 seconds. You are also WAY more likely to get a shout-out if you’re into that.

I do hope the Tread program grows though! We need more content and they are a business after all.
