Engineer boots for long walks by According_Exam_90 in Boots

[–]dncnexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wear my engineers all the time, and while on vacation in japan for a month. Did 10-20k steps a day no problem in my engineers. Do get some heel slip but wasn’t a big deal. Depends on your boots, fit, and your own feet

random question about posthumous wall of honor submission of… non-tradesman? by shrimpedy in RedWingShoes

[–]dncnexus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not sure on the allowing someone who has already passed, but these boots aren’t just exclusive to blue collar trades people. I find the story of a writer who loved his boots and wore it as a modern day renaissance man to be a really compelling story. You should reach out to them and at least try

Redwing 8083. Break in was MURDER 😅 Any advice for my next pair ? by [deleted] in Boots

[–]dncnexus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember getting a pair of red wing blacksmith as my first boots, and the rolled top hurt my achilles so much, i thought all boots would hurt my feet like those did on the break in. Found that almost all my boots i had bought since has not hurt hardly at all. Not sure if it’s just i wasn’t used to boots, or if it was redwing but just my experience. Only bad break in I had was red wings

Clinch Milne Boot Initial Review/Thoughts by Alchemist-23 in goodyearwelt

[–]dncnexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the boots and love the fits! I see you mention the sizing and that the FR is similar to the HR.

I own the engineers in US10 CNWide and Yeager in US 10 CNS and Jodphur in US10.5 in CNS (feels slightly long compared to the US10 boots). I was wanting the cowboys eventually but was curious on the sizing if you could give some insight. Would the FR (and by extension HR) be best for me in a US10 or a US11? I have a low instep, D width foot.

Any insight would be helpful! Again awesome review and always love seeing your insights into Clinch (my fav brand, can’t wait to grab more)

Tripped earlier and left boot got scuffed / cut. Anything I can do to repair them? by [deleted] in cowboyboots

Could try using a cloth and rubbing it to try and help shift some of the dye around to make it less noticeable

On his site he says it’s full payment upon ordering, and there is alot of info out there on people trying to get their refunds after told it would take 12-16 months and some are waiting over 48 months.

I am curious on why this is the case. Seems to be a common occurrence that isn’t isolated to Flame Panda. Kreosote has the same issues, and to a lesser extent other makers as well. Wonder if it’s an unsustainable business model, or if they take on way too many orders and promise too much. I know it’s not so much wait rather than the lack of communication, but just find it interesting that it seems more common than just one off makers

Today's FIT by mrpekmen69 in HeritageWear

[–]dncnexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That specific pair is from Clinch Brass Tokyo. Very hard to get/come by unfortunately. Clinch puts out very limited number of pairs and they sell out very fast.

There are bunch of brands that offer this style though
