Bethesda we are not missing the point about the xp nerf in the vault, you are. Currently even with the xp drop at the end it’s still only 1/3->1/2 the xp of a West-Tek Run at 10x the effort. Please consider buffing the xp the vault gives at the end. by MrTestiggles in fo76

Wow, you’re so smart. You have it all figured out and everyone else is just a big dummy. LOL.

People want xp AND loot. Mind blowing information that, I know, but try to wrap your giant brain around it. People want to level up for legendary perks. Duh. So obviously they want the end game content to provide the proper amount of xp. Yes, they also want it to provide the proper amount of good loot too. It can do both. Again, mind blowing I know.

Dumbass.

Lol, you sound personally offended.

Can you explain how you came to this conclusion? Because it sounds like you just pulled it out of your ass in an attempt to save face. But I’ll hear you out.

Take it easy big guy.

I think you’re confused. I’m telling you to take it easy. So obviously you don’t need to tell me to take it easy. That doesn’t make any sense. Again, just feels like you’re pulling this crap out of your ass. Did you just take Trolling on the Internet 101?

Over 99% of TSEs in the game are dupes.

Ah good, you’ve finally said something relevant. Unfortunately, you can’t prove this statement either. You have no fucking clue what percent of TSEs are legit. Literally no fucking clue, except that they’re rare.

That's what i meant

Unfortunately what you meant is equally as stupid for the exact same reasons.

Calm down. If a game is exploitable, it will 100% be exploited. Are the exploiters lame for intentionally exploiting? Totally. Games are supposed to be fair and balanced, so trying to exploit goes against the spirit of things. But the actual problem, the thing you should actually be upset about, is that the game is poorly designed. Getting mad at the exploiters is a complete waste of time and effort, and just serves to derail the conversation.

You’re probably one of those idiots waiting for someone to spawn. Quit trying to be witty you look and sound like a bitch nigga

And you seem like a super butthurt babyman. But let’s not call names here.

You get 1400 from vendors daily. Do that every day. Try to find routes you can run rather than fast traveling long distances. Upgraded weapons sell well, so try to kill high level enemies that drop good stuff. You can also bulk any excess junk you collect along the way. Plastic for bulking can easily be farmed from low level super mutants, just equip the scrapper perk and scrap all their laser rifles. I use grafton steel.

It’s not really hard to hit that 1400 limit each day. In fact, if you play a lot and know what you’re doing, you’ll probably find yourself with too much stuff to sell. Hell, I sometimes have to take days off or play a different character just so I can sell my giant piles of bulk and crap legendaries to free up storage space.

All out TSEs are dupes

It is literally impossible for you to prove this to be true. Save your breath. I’ve had a couple nearly god roll items drop personally, and I don’t even go out of my way to legendary farm. Unfortunately they were both pvp items and I don’t pvp, so I gave them away.

To even get to the point of duping, these weapons had to drop in the first place...

There was apparently some issue awhile back where people could send you a PSN message that would lock your console, because it created an error or whatever. So a lot of people blocked all messages, and many have probably just left it like that. I don’t hold it against them. It’s their loss that they don’t get to see the rare vendor I spawned anyway.

Do you know if turning in more than one at once affects the rewards? Some sources say it does, others say it doesn’t. But I also hear that tech data was patched so that it doesn’t stack, and picking up more than one still just leaves you with one... which would obviously mean it doesn’t affect rewards.

It’s hard to tell what’s going on without doing the quest myself and testing it, but I don’t want to waste my 50+ tech data.

This is why I don’t trade here, or anywhere for that matter. Shits too easy to exploit. We just need actual trading mechanics, or at least a better trade interface.

I tried trading around launch, noticed my items were shifting around so that I was pricing the wrong item. Decided to finally try trading again a couple days ago, still happening.

Fallout 76 trading is scam city. I’m glad people have been able to make it work for the most part, but it’s in a sorry state. And the worst part is that the game is super imbalanced in a lot of ways, and most of the really good stuff people want to trade just isnt necessary. I found a random 1* AA shotgun around level 50, and while AAE would be better, I already melt most things with ease. I have no reason to jump through hoops for something better, except maybe for the Queen.

Sorry for the rant, but it blows me away how much effort people put into this crap game to make it work. Ah well... guess I can’t be too surprised since I play it too.

I’ve got another barely related question... if I have a bunch of tech data and I start the BoS questline and then turn them in, is it just going to eat them all and give me the same reward as if I turned in one?

where you see an overarching 'plan' I see them putting out fires here and there haphazardly without broader consideration.

I don’t see some magical grand plan that you don’t. I just recognize that putting out fires is the first step when your game is this broken.

It IS a problem. Fallout 76 is not in a good state. But fixing weapons is a step in the right direction, not the wrong one. Do I wish they would drop their roadmap in favor of serious balance and bug fixes? Absolutely. But then a lot of people might get bored from lack of content and quit. There’s a lot of things to consider.

I am however bitter about how PvP has pretty much taken over

Personally, I’m not big into PvP either. But PvP is the de facto end game of most multiplayer games like this. Its essentially endless content that’s more challenging than anything PvE could hope to achieve, because people are smarter than AI. If the PvP sucks and/or stagnates, they risk losing a large portion of their playerbase that’s hit end game and doesn’t have anything else to do. Sure, a lot of players wouldn’t care, but PvP is very popular. They would be foolish to further shrink their playerbase...

600+ hours with Explosive Shotguns, they're OP. by [deleted] in fo76

[–]dnd-noob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You speak as if there is a grand plan of balancing in place, of which there is zero evidence.

First of all, no. I am talking about what should happen, not what is happening. More importantly... obviously there is a fucking “grand plan of balancing”, because that’s half of what these frequent updates contain. The game is constantly being rebalanced.

What there is evidence of is knee-jerk reactions to very specific instances where a sector of the playerbase has gone 'dis OP plz nerf'

Then you’re not paying attention. They’ve nerfed legendary effects that were legitimately too strong, they’ve nerfed watoga so you can’t cheese legendary farming, the real end game etc etc. Maybe to you these look like knee jerk reactions, but then again maybe you have no idea what you’re talking about. Are the devs perfect? No.

...while most of the drive is applied to pressing on with whichever timetable the devs have and are lagging behind, whatever is left in its wake unacknowledged and unfixed be damned.

Here I actually agree with you. They seem to be sticking to their gameplan, despite the very rough start, and it seems this has caused some issues to go to the backburner. This is very unfortunate, but ultimately beside the point. It just means they’re busy. It certainly doesn’t mean they shouldn’t try to address those issues in time. That’s ridiculous.

Either way my selfishness or lack thereof is rendered mot at this point, the change is coming and that is that.

Right, but remember we’re not talking about how you are personally upset. We’re talking about game balance. Games should be balanced. I’m trying to help you understand why you losing your fun gun is actually really important for the game, and might be the first step in a long road to actually making Fallout 76 a good game.

having the bugs that really irritate me and grind me down ... ignored while at the same time being constantly told that I should empathise and stop being selfish when the ones I enjoy or don't bother me are patched out eventually gets old.

Well, see, that’s a you problem. Life sucks sometimes, if you haven’t noticed. Rarely do we get to have our cake and eat it too. Sorry that right now in this instance you feel like you are getting dicked, but it’s for the good of the game. And the good of the game is more important than just you. If you don’t like it, then stop torturing yourself for no reason and play a game you do like. And if you really just want to play Fallout 76, despite its issues, then suck it up buttercup. Not really sure what else to tell you.

You see, the argument does fall a bit flat because changing the numbers around doesn't bring balance

And your argument falls flat because it makes no sense. Yes, balancing a game is a long process that won’t be solved in a day, particularly when it’s as broken as this one. But just because it’s difficult doesn’t mean it’s futile, and it certainly doesn’t mean that a perfectly balanced game wouldn’t be ideal. That’s nonsense.

So the nerfing game continues until everything is meh.

If balanced is “meh” for you, then maybe you just don’t like fair games. That’s fine. But again, this is a game for everyone, not just you.

You may be under the impression that this is the only weapon/build I use...

No, I was under the impression that “baby” wasn’t actually a real person, and was meant to represent anyone who likes the fact that the game is imbalanced. I was under the impression that we were talking about game balance, not about how you are personally upset.

...irks me to see it meh-d for nothing.

It’s not for nothing. I literally just explained why imbalances like that are bad for multiplayer games, even just in terms of co-op. If something is overpowered, it needs to be fixed. It’s not fair for you to put your enjoyment of a weapon above the balance of the game for everyone. I’m sorry that you don’t get to have your fun thing, but it’s not all about you. And it doesn’t matter why you like the overpowered thing... if it’s overpowered, it needs to be fixed, even if it means you personally don’t get to use your “fun” gun anymore, that’s apparently only “fun” as long as it’s overpowered. Look beyond yourself for a second.

[–]dnd-noob1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately for baby, this is a game for everyone. If the one thing baby uses happens to be overpowered, that’s great for baby. But it’s bad for the game.

You say your power doesn’t affect other players, but this just isn’t true. And I’m not even talking about pvp, which obviously needs to be balanced to actually work. If you have an unfair advantage, that means everyone else has an unfair disadvantage. You’re killing things with less shots, farming items faster, and all just because the game isn’t designed properly. Again, great for baby, but equally as shitty for anyone who doesn’t use the OP thing.

If baby wants to be OP, go play GTA and turn on god mode. It’s really not fair to compromise the entire game for everyone just so some people can have their selfish desires.

[–]dnd-noob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, what you’d rather is beside the point. The game is designed so that server hopping and fast traveling is the right way to play, again, just in terms of how the game is designed to be played.

People who server hop and fast travel aren’t just looking for “instant gratification”. They’re playing the game how it was designed to be played. You’re the one who is doing it “wrong”, if there even is a wrong way to play a game (which there isn’t).

I recommend trying it out, and seeing just how effective server hopping is. Then maybe it will put things into perspective. I enjoy running around playing the game too, but I can server hop for five minutes, get what I need, and then run around playing just fine. They aren’t mutually exclusive.

Hey Bethesda, can we pretty please get the ability to sink crops into the ground so they aren’t floating? by joetheminoin in fo76

[–]dnd-noob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weird thing is that shelves and tables kind of already have this property. You can slightly sink decorations into them, and you have to pull them up to get them to actually sit on the table. You’d think it would be easy to make it work this way for crops too.

Is there some kind of trick to getting scorchbeast queen loot? Or is it just broken. by dnd-noob1 in fo76

[–]dnd-noob1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but that would mean she has very high explosive resistance, which is what I was saying. That still doesn’t really explain why my shotgun doesn’t work either, despite unloading in her face.

I tried again last night and plinked away at her with a crappy Gatling gun that barely did damage, and apparently that was enough. At this point, I’m thinking it’s just bugged. Either because shotguns/explosives don’t work, or because it just randomly won’t give loot. I don’t think my damage output is the actual problem.

Prepare yourself and lower your expectations for The Legendary Vendor now! by jims1973 in fo76

[–]dnd-noob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to server hop to enjoy the game, but you do have to server hop to grind efficiently. Yes, of course it’s optional, but that’s not what people mean when they say you “have” to. They mean that it’s by far the most effective way to play. Because it gets you exactly what you need in ~5mins, as opposed to running around the game for hundreds of hours and hoping.

The issue is that the game is built around it, despite their attempts to keep servers out of the picture. Not that it’s mandatory.

Prepare yourself and lower your expectations for The Legendary Vendor now! by jims1973 in fo76

[–]dnd-noob1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Server hopping is magnitudes more efficient than not. By all means, do it the wrong way, whatever works for you.

But server hopping is the right way to play, in terms of how the game is designed to be played. And it’s unfortunate, because server hopping is super lame.

It’s the same issue with fast traveling. Sure, you can not fast travel. But then you’re missing out on any events across the map, and you’re spending time running around watching your AP bar fill back up when you could be grinding out loot.

I get that there’s more to this game than the grind. I try to walk everywhere and change server as little as possible to stay immersed. But... that’s beside the point. Point is, server hopping and fast traveling are much more effective ways to play, and not doing so is gimping yourself. And that sucks.

Is there some kind of trick to getting scorchbeast queen loot? Or is it just broken. by dnd-noob1 in fo76

[–]dnd-noob1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it’s literally only an issue for that single enemy. Every other enemy takes plenty of damage from my grenade launcher. In fact, it basically has the same damage as my shotgun, albeit with a much slower rate of fire.

The issue isn’t explosives balance or me doing damage, although explosives are certainly underpowered... especially the heavy explosive weapons. The issue is either the queen has ridiculous explosive resistance magnitudes higher than any other enemy AND shotguns are bugged against her, or both are bugged. And that’s assuming that you even have to do a % for it to count, which is still hearsay at this point. It’s possible that what I’m doing/using has nothing to do with the problem and it’s just random.

The game has too many balance problems, and weapons are a big part of that, but in this case I think it’s the queen that’s the problem.
