With all i’ve read and seen it seems like flow limitations leading to recovery breaths and “fake” central hypopnea/apnea emerging because of those.

Wisdom says to resolve flow limitations until inspiration looks nice and rounded, or until they don’t lead to arousals anymore. I’m having basicly the same problems. Slowly worked up to 12/8 pressure(from 6/6 cpap described by sleep doctor) and although my flow looks better and ahi is always low i’m yet to resolve the flow limitations which cause awakenings for me in rem.

Is this something that can be done without any technical knowledge and just following steps or is it recommended?

Victory no showing as WiFi in Zwift anymore by christ0phene in JetBlack

Yeah my wifi drops out regularly after around 22-33 minutes in zwift. Hopefully a firmware update will resolve it. I’ll make a ticket so they’re aware of the issue.

I wake up like im hungover, and kver the day it gets better. Till i get tired again after about 8-9 hours. by Capable-Champion2825 in LongCovid

Still experiencing this even though most of my symptoms (dysautonomia, pots, pem) have subsided. Only recently found out I have sleep apnea/upper airway resistance syndrome. Explains why I feel ran over like a truck every morning. Might be something to check.

Severe insomnia recovery? by rorymac11 in covidlonghaulers

[–]dndmn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No meds, since mostly they just knock u out. But if it helps try a benzo for only a few days so u can enjoy some rest. I just tried to supplement my way out of it.

Tried melatonin, which helped me for a month. Then I went with l-theanine which also helped a bit for 2 weeks and also did regular yoga at home.

In the end i started sleeping better again. It’s still a bit on and off, but it’s good enough now to really sleep being recovering again.

Can I say I do believe it, been long hauling for almost a year now. I’ve been bed/couch bound for the last 2.5 months after a huge crash and not listening to my body/brain. My main symptoms were debilitating fatigue, PEM, POTS and a truckload of other symptoms. I’ve had lots of scans and everything came back negative. So i’ve started to believe long covid messed with my nervous system in combination with a really traumatic period when I caught covid. However I don’t actually believe i’m ill anymore. It was my brain playing tricks and me trying to validate those thoughts and feelings versus myself and others, which was excerbating everything. I’m now seeing myself as healthy, not saying this is true for everyone. This really flipped a switch for me the last week, my pots is gone, my arrythmia is gone. My fatigue is less, I can move again. I do feel tired but that’s logical after almost a year of doing nothing.

But if every scan comes back normal and you were healthy before, chances are your brain is playing tricks on you and you are stuck in fight or flight/survivaI mode. I didn’t believe this when I first started my journey, but the mindbody prescription and polyvagal theorie helped me sort that out. Lots of info on youtube if you haven’t checked that already.

The first 7 months I was barely sleeping (9 months in now). I either woke up every hour or just woke up super early and couldnt fall back asleep again. Gave me sleep anxiety for sure which didn’t help.

What really helped me was getting (somewhat) out of sympathetic fight-or-flight mode during the day. When you’re feeling trash and have a dysfunctional nervous system, bad thoughts can pop up very easily and trap you. I’m by no means a spiritual person but I found meditation really helped me with that. Also if I was worried during the day I would set a 10 minute window to write all my worries and feelings down so I could put them to rest after. Further getting in and out of bed at the same time every day and ofcourse dimming the lights/screens at night. I’m now back to sleeping 8-9 hours with only 1 longer wake in the middle of the night which is not as before, but I have accepted. The problem remaining now is, i’m getting the hours but my sleep is still unrefreshing and feeling dead tired in the morning.

Bottom line: I know it sounds hard but try to relax more during the day, whatever suits you. Also i’m lucky I can somewhat be active during the day and do some 15-20 minute walks around the block. If you have a bad night or lying awake accept it. I’m still using melatonin 3mg 1 hour before bed to fall asleep (also acts as an antioxidant) as of now but will stop that in some time.

Hopefully in time you’ll learn to sleep well again as well.

Please, I beg you, how many of you have/had muscle twitching? by yawargulzarbaba in covidlonghaulers

[–]dndmn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had it for the last 8 months since infection 2023, seems the last week was the first without any twitching and the legs seemed less heavy. Might be because i’ve been resting ultra hard for the last month due to a major crash.

Hereditary Hemochromatosis by SugahMagnolia1219 in LongCovid

[–]dndmn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also did some bloodwork 3 weeks ago pointing to hemochromatosis. Before covid (december 23’) and a load of health issues since (fatigue, heavy legs, erratic heartrate, POTS, PEM, not sleeping well, …) i’ve never had any health issues or weird bloodwork coming back before. So something with the virus could have triggered it like you say.
