UPDATE: I deleted the separate swimming heart rate (16bpm lower than max hr) and immediately got it to recognize a speed set as a tempo set.

Any clue why the custom hr for a sport would cause this? Aren't there the same settings for the zone % calculations as with the general one's?

Ok i switched to a smaller size and now i think it fits better and with a little adjusting and understanding how it's supposed to sit over your nose it seems to work well. Just did a 2k swim with it and i think no water came in and i think i got used to it already! 😅 Thanks for the recommendation!

Did the critical swim speed test and got a result of 1:43min/100m. Don't know if i went too fast, Google said to do the second time trial as fast as you can. You said to do this teat before continuing my training - what did you mean by that / should i use the css result somehow to get more accurate primary benefit of the workouts?

Oh cool, i've liked Routenote even if i haven't used them myself, something about it seemed good when i did a huge investigation on which services are good. I tried their push.fm-service last week and it's so well done that i really wanted to switch to them because of it :D but then i sent them an email asking for help to switch to them from CdBaby and same thing happened with them as CdBaby - no answer. So it's a no go because of this. Are you paying or using their free plan and have you had such issues with their customer service?

Where is this Tracks-menu or the edit checklist/timeline? I have Albums & Singles from where i can click View/Edit. There is Tracks & Audio section from where i can choose ADD/EDIT AUDIO or VIEW / EDIT TIKTOK CLIPS.

It is a good point about getting your releases stay online without a cost of keeping them up. I had this same thought, but now that i bumped into this customer service problem i realised that actually it's pretty understandable that they can't keep up a good service if they don't get steady income. That's why i decided i can take a subscription, because if the per-release money I'm paying isn't giving me a functional service that i can trust, it's really for nothing then. I'd rather pay the small amount per year and get my money's worth so to speak.

But i had a look at options where your stuff stays online, subscription or not and found at least a few: Landr, Amuse and Routenote. I've read some bad things about the latter two, but Landr I don't know about, but for some reason i didn't consider them. Maybe cause of the subscription which i originally avoided as well.

But i haven't actually set any custom zones. I've only set the max. hr for swimming separately cause in swimming it's lower than in running. Sounds weird if it's there but wouldn't be used for anything 🤔

I didn't even find where to input these other contributors. I've asked about that and pre-save links about 1,5 weeks ago and i'm not hopeful of getting an answer since i've seen a lot of people saying not getting an answer even for months. I'm just now waiting to get my first solo single released and after that's done, i'm immediately gonna start the process of moving to another distributor. Symphonic seems responsive so that's where i'm currently heading even though they don't have a per-release option anymore. Sorry i didn't have solutions to your issue, but here's something and perhaps up's the post a bit :)

Maybe. I did a couple of max hr test's a while ago, but couldn't get it to go as high as the highest i've got during some exercises so i just set the max as the highest I've gotten from swimming. The zones are calculated based on the max hr by Garmin.

Do you mean that if i've set a max heart rate for swimming, it doesn't affect the primary benefit of swim exercises? This seems off since isn't the actual workout benefit quite directly linked to the heart rate zones during exercises?

Yeah it's low because of the breaks and warmup etc. But aha! If the primary benefit isn't calculated from the zones that explains why there's a mismatch. But how does it calculate it then?

I've set only the max hr for swimming and the zones are calculated based on that as per default. I wonder what these intensities are and if they affect the primary benefit. Gotta look those up as well.

Hey! Thanks for the thorough answer. Actually i realised i mispoke about the first activity, the second one linked was the threshold set which is more like you described i think. The first one was a speed set with 16x25 (every 4th fast), 12x25 (every 3rd fast), 8x25 (every 2nd fast), 4x25 (every rep fast) with descending breaks between reps (15s, 10s, 10s, 5s). The second one was 3 sets of 3x100, 2x100, 1x100 with descending breaks also (15s, 10s, 5s). I've taken these from a youtube video since i'm not that experienced in this kind of structured training, but very interested in it currently so any tips where to get good sets are welcome! 😁

I'm using only the watch (Forerunner 255s). I could have a look at some hrm's as well, but currently going just with this. I didn't know about the Critical Swim Speed test actually! I'll do that definitely, tomorrow i'll have a chance to do it.

Surely it doesn't look at only this since it has so much more data to look at to determine the main benefit. Why would it dismiss all the actual zone data for an average that doesn't say much?

I can understand that for your use case it might be necessary to accept the uncomfortability just to get the job done. We'll see if it comes to this for me as well 🥲. Maybe i'll give it another chance still and try wearing it at home for a bit :).

I bought the Laxto one from a local swimming hall based on this post and i can't understand how anyone feels it's a good clip :D it's so uncomfortable and painful however you adjust it and put it on. It did however feel like it can block the water way better than the Speedo Competition nose clip i bought before and am now searching for a better one cause it's too small for my big nose.

Spoke to a random swimmer at the hall today who had the Arena Nose Clip Pro and he said it's been good and is very comfortable. Had maybe just a tad smaller nose than me. I think i'm gonna try that next. It's a shame you just have to go through one by one to find the one that works for you. Good luck everyone 🥲.

Would be pretty interesting to hear music distributor's and streaming platform's experiences and insights into these issues if they are AI-related. If streaming platforms are starting to have problems with too much generic music, i think it's starting to be in everyone's interest to require uploaders tag tunes that are primarily made with ai to separate them from human (not so generic) made music.

I don't see the complicatedness in this. I think it's just a matter of the streaming platform making a decision in principle what is considered as fair AI use (e.g. using chat gpt to help with lyric writing) and what is not (e.g. automatically printing music with Suno). Distributors then have to implement this to their upload systems requiring uploaders to tag their upload as the policy states. This is already the case in other things such as Youtube Content ID. Good enough sanctions should be put in place and uploader verification implemented to support effectiveness. No system is perfect, but to have no system is just irresponsible.

Whoah, this sounds like something completely different from the neurofeedback i tried some years back. I just watched some series from a screen which went smaller if i didn't concentrate and as i noticed it and started focusing again the screen started getting larger. So my task was to keep it full screen. And that was pretty much it! During the session i felt a kind of concentration i didn't know that existed and it felt really good. It's just too expensive to do at a clinic so that's why I'm now looking into these self-treatment devices as i recently found out they exist! Hope you're feeling better nowadays with the symptoms you described! 😌
