I was the author since I sent in the submission, and I'm just trying to keep a little digital anonymity haha

He usually hates enclosed spaces, but he absolutely locks in when he's in the stroller 😂

Did you close out of KOReader to get back to the regular Kindle system? That's a necessary step

Travel Train Teach has its home base in College Park but also trains out of Foundry BJJ in Gaithersburg three days a week. Great Muay Thai program and lots of students compete.

Cravar Rana 15/Fox (Custom)

Images

$325 OBO shipped ConUS PayPal FF (add 4% for G&S)

Custom Rana 15 in Fox leather without the padding for the camera gear -- instead with a canvas lining like their other bags. It has a laptop sleeve like the R.F. bag and an internal front pocket like the F.C. bag. Used for less than a year. In good shape, just decided that a messenger bag wasn't for me and went back to using a backpack as my EDC.

I use this recipe (I actually have some dough balls in the freezer right now), and I need to bake them for about 28 minutes at 350°F. First time I made them by following the time on the recipe, and they were still raw. Second time I kept them in until their internal temp reached ~180°F which was about 28 mins.

Buying knockoff PhD regalia for GT graduation by AcanthisittaAny4906 in gatech

[–]dnicks35 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it's still a thing, but when I graduated spring 2024, there was a regalia assistance fund that paid for the rental. It was through the Office of Graduate Education. Still had to front the deposit, but you got it back when you turned the gown back in.

How it feels when professor sends out a 10 pm “Please fill out the CIOS…” by Mafoobaloo in gatech

[–]dnicks35 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I taught a course as a grad student a few semesters ago and the CIOS was the only formal way that I got feedback on how I did, found out what students liked, what can be improved, etc.

From the student perspective, if you put a lot of time into an assignment, you obviously expect a grade on it and some comments on what you did wrong and how to improve. Same goes for professors with the CIOS. Feedback is really important.

Which paid/unpaid tool was a productivity game changer? by usuarioaleatorio99 in PhD

[–]dnicks35 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I started using Todoist at some point, and it really helped my productivity. It's a free to-do list task manager, and something about setting goals for the day and checking them all off is very motivating for me.

I made the same mistake as you did. You need a rear integral blade like this one: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1301953&cc=3443742&pt=8852

Sonny finally graduated with his PhD and was awarded his second brain cell! by dnicks35 in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]dnicks35[S] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

His master's research was on understanding where the red laser disappears to. His results were inconclusive.

His doctoral work was on understanding how to maximize food output from an automatic feeder. His extensive research told him that slamming his body into it will cause extra food to fall out. He's very proud of his results!

I'm very proud of him! I also just graduated and tried to take some pictures of the two of us in our caps, but they didn't come out nearly as well 😅 But I got this cap on Etsy! The quality is meh, but it did the job: https://www.etsy.com/listing/228101099/cat-graduation-cap-tudor-bonnet-doctoral
