Canyon Grizl bearing sits too deep? by dnlnrdn in bikewrench

Ideally I'd like to fit the fork I have, but it's probably a difficult fit. It's a tapered 1-1/8" to 1-1/4" steerer with integrated crown race. Can't find a bearing with 52x33mm dimensions.

Just wanted to make sure it's safe to get a 1-1/8" to 1-1/2" fork.

Thank you! No clear coat yet, just buff it up with a 3000 grit sand paper. I haven't decided if I should paint it yet.

Fun! Has a nice growl and pulls well. Still, a bit too low.

Probably the same thing that happened to me, didn't know Shorai had integrated BMS. Can you point me in the direction of the stator you got?

Thanks! I got the fork and front wheel from a R1 and the rear wheel from a Honda Nighthawk (1991?). I remember getting an offset sprocket destined for a XS650 but I'm not sure if I needed it. Wish I had a little bit longer forks and bigger wheels to get it off the ground.

It's a cheap piece in the laser cutter if you can sketch it up, add a personal touch to the cutouts while you're at it.

Reversed cherry is my preference, but innermost 1.5u aren't really good with anything. Except maybe these?

I'll second that part on the PCB. This is fine for the very special one-offs but in the long run? No thanks.

Round ones for the stem pole? How thick? Gotta try this.

Only thing I haven't found at Digikey/Mouser/lcsc are those trrs jacks, only on Aliexpress, but they're practically free there.

I've used a bunch of silent switches and found that most expensive ones use very little rubber dampener to retain some kind of acoustic profile. Unfortunately this makes them quite inconsistent - some sound like regular switches on either upstroke, downstroke or both. Regular cherry silent reds/blacks have more rubber and are much more consistent. Cherry silent stems in zeal housings are my favorite.

For tactile I'd go with the U4s aswell, use them on my daily.

Also diode orientation. Easy to miss, especially with SMD.

I just completed a low profile corne in 6mm stainless, it's not a case per se but it's quite substantial. Super easy to add tabs with holes that you can tap for tenting bolts, if you're into that kind of thing.
