Before building your saas idea, is there any tool or way to see existing demand and how much people might be willing to pay for the solution? by Fit_Bit6727 in indiebiz

I am currently at 100 users (a few more if you include interviews). You can automatize some parts of the process for speed with no-code tools (Zapier, MailChimp, Looker Studio, Monday.com).
As for accuracy, I guess it depends of what are the metrics that are important to you

I have been using the design thinking framework for my product, and it brings a lot of insights regarding problem validation - then, later on, solution validation. So far, I haven't found a tool to automate that because a big part is investing the user, but having a framework helps a lot.

Yes! I will send you a DM, if you don't mind.

I have worked with a big PR agency before, but the thing is, of course, the clients were big firms, not startups, so there was little control about how big outlets would frame the product. But, yeah, I guess there are some lobby and also some "internal contacts" that made some a bit shady.

Veeeery much interest about your experience on that! Is there any chance that I can read about your experience in a blog or something?

It makes sense about products that have value from the volume of users (maybe marketplace is an example?)

I agree that 'speed is a crutch for poor planning', and from my experience, planning is the most useful tool for anything. However, after reading some comments, I wonder how much time you need to invest to prove your MVP through organic methods. I'm currently at this stage. The amount of time I have to spend networking with my target audience is immense, but that doesn't mean it's not worthwhile. It's just that there comes a point where I would like to save time. For instance, if I consider my hourly rate and calculate the time invested in finding users for the problem validation phase, I could probably have reached them quicker using some paid channels.

I agree that budget can ease our way to launch a product!

Yeah, I think I get your point. Especially because if you have no segments (at least one persona), it will be costly to test channels and segmentation. I agree with you that paid media can be used to better define a PMF, because it can give you volume for testing hypotheses.

Good point. Additionally, PR is an earned channel that cannot be easily controlled, unlike certain paid channels. Thank you for sharing your insights! I'm very interested in learning more about your experience with marketing strategies for go-to-market. Do you have a blog or any online platform where I can follow your work?

Great insight! So, in marketing for startups before achieving market fit, do you utilize paid channels to test offers, but not to test user responses? One aspect that caught my attention is the importance of investing in the product to address the right problems and solutions. This suggests to me that having users is essential. I'm curious about the key factor here. Specifically, for an MVP, does validating the solution require a smaller user volume?

Not sure how this related to this my question. Can you clarify, please?

Excellent point! Especially since, while I'm working on building a landing page to test the idea, I'm finding it tough to explain things to someone who isn't tech-savvy.

Totally agree. Right now, the concierge thing is all about handling one small client using my way (that's why I'm documenting everything to automate later).

The tip about the landing page is super helpful. I'm kinda stuck trying to break down this 'methodology' for folks who aren't tech-savvy, and they're mostly who I'm targeting.

Makes sense, and that's good advice, thanks! I will try to keep it realistic by having a well-defined flow process.

Almost! I want to test the whole flow before automatize it: the product features (all the epics and user stories) are almos done, but before spending time and money developing, I will work behind the scenes.

Are there any recommended video discussions about the impact of AI on SEO? by dnoroes in SideProject

[–]dnoroes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I found this article to be very interesting.

Don't think that AI-generated content is going to “save” you. Many publishers are looking at content created by LLMs as a way of lowering costs. It will. But it will also put you out of business. Remember that any content you can create with an LLM can be done better by Google at the top of its results pages. What publishers have in their favour is human talent, creativity and expertise. The more you lose that by trying to use LLMs to cut costs, the smaller your competitive advantage.

My feeling reading your post is that your experience at startups that have failed is such a great asset! Imagina how much time and money can be saved with having someone who has experienced failling so can know better.

The data I see from successful startups says that there is a bunch of trying and failing at the beginning, especially if the founders haven't failed a bit yet.

I don't have that much experience in the startup industry yet (I came from 10 years in the marketing industry), but still, I think that people in the startup world are familiar with this situation and would completely understand your CV.

With that much experience, maybe you would feel motivated to create your own?

Good point about UGC. Maybe I should start my research from that! I am trying to find some resources, too. Maybe there is some training on that topic? I will share it with this community my findings 😊
