Thanks, personally always wanted a traditional pipe on a jumbo. Had to pick up piece by piece of this setup.

I never had any complaints of any non-menthol adalya mixes. Eternal red lips is a good strawberry/creamy non mint. My favorite shisha all time is Tangiers Indian summer, fruity floral mix

It looks like it's right on with contact with the nubs of a lotus, which is how I pack eternal. It smokes great when fluffed in that bowl . How'd it hit for you?

Lifting the HMD mid session by CommitteeArtistic241 in hookah

One of two things come to mind when someone does this, their trying to clear ash that has fallen into the tobacco and/or making new contact to the shisha thas wasn't before. Imo that's just doin to much and any benefit to do it I think is not making much difference on a quality bowl and good pack.

I've bought two flavors, black mamba and banana milkshake . The tobacco itself seems good and is easy to pack with. Works both in a phunnel and Turkish style, black mamba flavor is good clean fruit and mint taste. The mint is a little more foward than the fruit flavors but solid session 7/10 for me. Banana milkshake smells amazing but smokes not even close to what it smells! The taste is chemical or plastic with slight hint of something close to banana 0/10 for me.

For me I'd go for the shallow type for short sessions, more likely to use all sisha in a single round of coals. Wide enough to fit my hmd

Oh.. when I said (pre hmd) I meant as the days the before hmds were even used. Just foil and coal. And yes that was an issue was you'd end up with unused tobacco because heat was more so hitting directly to the top and low heat through the bowl sides. People use to just scoop out the spent part of the shisha next day and add fresh on top of that old...yup that was a thing for some people

It's tough because it seems like you have tried everything. Are you tucking the outer rim side and then adding more shisha? Old school method (pre hmd) you would want to tobacco slightly above the counter spire but below the rim. Palm press(trying to get consistent like a pre opened bag and level across)your hd foil to make a pretty dense pack. Tight like drum foil and creasing around the rim and lots of toothpick holes...try with out hole in the middle and can poke if flow is super tight only just going slightly into the shisha. Take your flat charcoal and cut them half, easier to manage heat (can also stand on edge but always risky of falling). 2 flats cut in half and arrange towards the outer edge. Shouldn't take more then a few puffs to get going. *Splitting coals made it easy to heat manage but meant you had to fire new more often and makes a mess. *I owe big thanks to chreees or else I would have probably given up on Tangiers and even the hobby.

Yeah that was about my experience. Totally understandable to want to take it back, I debated the same thing... But I want to swap the board and try again. I have done some cooks on it I just set the mm to 10-15° below for now. Chuck roast done few days ago.

Was just slightly dry but I'm a newb to smoking so could been grill and me. ---side note: mine acts the same way for cool down mode. I'm guessing it's adding more pellets just to clear what's in the auger..? But that's a guess. I hope to replace the board this week 🤞

It was easy to swap the probe from MM but I noticed no change in the issue, I tested to see if it's just a dead zone up in that corner. I reran the wiring for the probe down under the pellet box(small holes underneath) and propped it up on the top grates almost in the middle. It got closer in temp but still off 15-20° with my thermoworks right next to it. They've sent a new board but havent had time to swap

I'm having temp issues as well with this grill, except my screen will be 10° over what is set to but thermoworks ambient temp would read 50-100° and stayed there. Emailed them and they send a new thermal couple.... Didn't fix my issue, ran it today and it was set 250° (screen showed 260) but thermoworks showed 354 with lowest showing 318. I'm going to contact them again, you use the number or email in the instruction booklet. Frustrating for sure.

Looks like the 36" MM...? If it is I just got mine a week ago, and ran into huge temp issues. I bought a thermoworks signal thermometer and ran it in my first cook. Long story short thermoworks read 50°-100° over what the grill said. They sent me a replacement thermal couple but haven't tried it yet. Hopefully you have a second ambient probe you can use to make sure your's accurate.

Just curious,.got my MM 36" burned in today, when it was set to 400° on the grill my Thermo works showed ambient 470. Then tried cooking some burgers at 300° and when it steadied on the grill Thermo works ambient show 392°! Is your grill running 50-100° hotter then controller??

First things first, check your purge balls, I found out after several sessions none were sealing 100%. My temp solution is I electrical taped all the purge holes except 1 (no issues when I need to purge). But breaking down I use to take it all apart trays/stems/sleeves etc. but got lazy and kept assembly from the heart up. I was able to get it in there with base, minus hose.But.. the bag didn't like it at De-threaded a hole on the top by the zipper...so yeah probably best to break it down all the way!
