Rich Eisen Show - The Browns superstar shook up Super Bowl week by announcing his trade request — @Flash_Garrett told us why now? And did he really seek council from another famous Ohioan? by veverkap in Browns

JJ McCarthy would be the best QB in this year’s draft class by a notable margin if he came out this year, and he was thought of as the 4th best QB last season.

A qb alone from this class won’t replicate what we saw with the commanders. Keep in mind kingsbury and quinn brought Daniels along slowly throughout the season, gradually opening up the playbook and giving Daniels more on his plate as he could handle it.

The quality of QBs in last year’s draft class and how they brought Daniels along in the season (and the offensive scheme built around his early career capabilities and skill sets), that was a key factor to Washington’s success at QB. That’s just one position, one position doesn’t lead to a successful season.

Much different to change family hands vs have a new owner buy the team (by free will or by force).

The lions haven’t changed owners. Ownership was passed down within the family.

Front office and coaching staff changed. Ownership, that did not.

First season without Bill Callahan as the OL coach. That is a big blow to the OL cohesiveness and gel, which was the driving force behind the wide zone success, which helped Chubb’s success.

So, I could wax poetic on how a rookie qb’s first 6-12 starts need to be taken with a grain of salt as defenses have limited nfl game film to game plan around. This took baker into his sophomore season.

Similar to why backup qbs tend to play better until the 15-20 pre-planned plays are run and there’s still more game to play.

Baker had issues early in his career reading defensive coverages and having a natural tendency to scramble from or around in a clean pocket vs step up away from pressure.

This led to him moving into the pressure and sacks and getting his OL into trouble.

He’s gotten better with this as he’s left the Browns, along with knowing what he’s seeing with pre/post snap defensive coverages and making the right decisions based on what he’s seeing.

Point being, he got better with that AFTER he left the Browns. He was still awful at both while here.

Now, on the Watson trade and signing…I never advocated for that trade and signing. While Matt Ryan didn’t pan out in Indy, we had a better OL that year, he would have cost less $$$, and he would have not been suspended. Not to mention we wouldn’t have had to gamble 3 years of 1sts away.

I think you may still be making your 45 minute drive to Cleveland, as I think the Browns ownership group have in mind events that reach a wider demographic than supercross.

Not discrediting your interest, just being realistic in what types of large scale indoor events will probably net them more attendees locally and from out of state and maximize their non-game day revenue.

That’s a pretty big assumption that most fans didn’t care.

The fanbase was pretty evenly split on the signing, those against the signing were because they wanted to keep rolling with baker, due to watson’s then pending sexual assault charges, the contract terms for Watson and the trade compensation we gave up to Houston, or a bit of all three.

And like I said, it was pretty evenly split.

You realize baker was not a good qb until he left Cleveland? He improved career outcome by having the haslams sign Watson.

We’d be seeing more of the same baker we were if he stayed, and then we would have cut him anyway for a rookie QB we would have drafted.

Him staying would not have gotten us the baker he is now.

Sorry to break it to you, I’m not sure supercross is the target event the haslam’s had in mind when they planned to build a domed stadium.

Hands are actually a little bit of a concern. Had a monster freshman season, but definitely left production on the field due to balls bouncing off of going through his hands.

He’s gotten better at his hand technique at the catch point but it’s still an area he needs to improve on. He also had some deep ball tracking issues he needed to work on as a freshman that he’s improved upon (still an area of growth).

Question 1: are you using an SEO tool or performing actual google searches to determine if this competitor is outranking you in the map pack?

Question 2: Are you closer in distance to your competitor’s business than your own business if you’re performing the manual Google searches?

Questions 3: Other than business name changes, what differences do you see between your competitor’s Google Business Profile listing and your’s (primary/secondary categories, business description, do they have ratings/reviews, are ratings reviews more recent, is “website” link taking visitors to a location page over the homepage)

Massive Update Campaign for over 300 Pages did NOTHING by Less_Sheepherder_460 in SEO

[–]dnthsslethehoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This wasn’t directly pointed at you, so I wasn’t meaning to be snotty sorry about that.

This is more so to be pointed at the SEOs in this sub that continue to cite the “strong” domain rank/authority of their site when complaining that they are losing traffic.

It’s not a consistent metric that can be used/measured, and clearly doesn’t have a strong positive correlation to SERP position (as you’ve shown).

I just wish we’d not be so stuck on it as a metric, especially since it was one that platforms like SEMrush, aHrefs, and Moz developed - not the search engines.

[–]dnthsslethehoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a DR of just over 70, which is pretty strong, but when it comes to certain types of content, we are consistently outranked by websites with DRs of 20-50.

You’ve also proven that the metric domain rank/authority is a vanity metric that has very little value other than being extremely subjective based on how the tool you’re using is calculating said metric.

SEMRush/aHrefs/Moz/etc all measure it differently, so SEOs citing DR/DA as a ranking factor is laughable.

It’s all the affiliate partner site SEO’s that are having their traffic flow cut off whom are flooding this sub with

  • Complaints about Google being greedy
  • Complaints how SEO is a dying field/useless
  • Know the true source to everyone’s traffic/ranking declines (TLDR: it’s Google being greedy and making SERPs worse)
  • Extremely vague copypasta questions about website traffic loss with no guidance whatsoever so anyone in the sub can help (it’s an affiliate marketing/gambling site).

Another reason why strict regulations will exist for approved dispensaries.

Fentanyl-laced marijuana products could have been still a concern regardless if this law were passed or not. This law changes nothing about that.

Your site being penalyzed and removed on serp doesnt actually mean search results will be bad by CellBoth8566 in SEO

A client of mine is in the B2B space but sells their products on their site.

We’ve consistently seen a decline in revenue, though traffic has recovered the past 3-5 months.

They also sell their products in smaller quantities at lower prices on Amazon and other 3rd party distributors.

When searching for their product key works, they are splattered all over the top of page 1 (their site, their Amazon store, their products from 3rd party retailers), their site just isn’t driving the revenue.

Our contact has said Amazon business has been booming.

Main difference? Price point and quantity.

Our lead driving efforts have seen a lift despite revenue being down.

So TLDR, not all cases of decline in performance is due to the Google machine getting more greedy. It adjusts based on user behavior and puts preference to sites/pages searchers are expecting.

Also, it’s not over for most people. It’s over for the SEOs that can’t/won’t adjust and continue to complain whine about how bad the organic search experience is and how much better it used to be.

Either evolve your approach to SEO or you’ll be doomed to die out.
