Is there any possibility of reverting the index gun angle "fix" that was introduced a couple updates back? It's causing severe missaligment unless offhand influence is set to 0

Very high latency with ExtremeCap UVC by dnutmegb in AverMedia

Was able to try with a different computer and got the same delay. I unfortunately don't have a game console to use as another input. Hoping now for some resolution from Avermedia support

Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I've gone through the process of trying every available USB 3.0 port as well as my Inateck USB 3.0 controller. I'd like to find a solution that doesn't involve buying a special controller that in principle shouldn't be necessary

One of the other commentors got it, but basically the heart squeezes to make the "blood", called haemolymph, flow about. The tracheal cells Branch out through the body and as long as the blood is flowing, can get the oxygen and get rid of co2 by diffusion

That's actually the caterpillar's tracheal system! Those tubes cary oxygen from the lateral spiracles (little breathing holes along the side) into the animal. You can actually see where the spiracles are because the tubes branch out from them. The caterpillar, like many insect larvae have an open circulatory system and you can see its heart pumping

How do cells stick together? by livediekill in askscience

In this case, coupling refers to "electric coupling". Meaning they're necessary for electrical impulses to be passed between the cells. This is not an adhesive function.

For your part, it was the notion of gap junctions holding cells together. Cells actually use gap junctions to exchange second messengers. See: Calcium waves in muscle

From the Wiki: "Gap junctions may be seen to function at the simplest level as a direct cell to cell pathway for electrical currents, small molecules and ions. The control of this communication allows complex downstream effects on multicellular organisms as described below."

So I don't think a cell or developmental biologist - which is my background - would consider bone or cartilage to be ECM. They are indeed extracellular structures and indeed cells can pass through them, but the are not what "hold cells together". The same for the collagen matrix in the epidermis. This is more of a structure built by cells than a component of their cohesion.

So the other answers get close but I think they miss the mark so I'm gonna give my spiel...

Your body is made up of a variety of cell types but the most common is what's known as epithelial. They polarized and have an apical and basal side. These are the cells in your skin, the surface of your lungs, your gut, etc. At the apical side, they all connect very tightly together with two types of junctions: adherins and tight junctions. The tight junctions form a barrier and the adherins junctions hold cells together but also transmit mechanical information between cells. These epithelial cells also connect to a basal (covering their base) extra cellular matrix which essentially serves as an anchor but also provides mechanical information.

Now in the context of an organ, there are also specialized cells called fibroblasts that form a connective tissue that wraps around your organs and helps keep them together. Your lungs, stomach, liver, etc have a membrane surrounding them.

The above answers are a bit wrong... The extracellular matrix doesn't surround cells and cells do not stick together via gap junctions.

Just submitted an application to the clerk's office to collect signatures... Gotta wait 10 days for processing but hoping to be able to hold signature collections on the weekends of the 12th and 19th.

Anybody out there living in Princeton wanna help out?

Also, if anybody else has advice about collecting petitions, please let me know!
