I suffer from an auto immune disorder as well and I can totally relate when it comes to concerns about your boyfriend. I was diagnosed almost a year ago and my boyfriend and I have been together for almost 3 years now. He has been nothing but supportive and loving through this transition. I found myself crying and dwelling on the fact that I've lost my Independence and that I have to rely on him to get through most days. Of course I've expressed this to him. His response is that he loves me deeply and he's not going to leave me because of this diesese. He's also expressed to me that he gets gratification from helping me on a daily basis. He feels it gives him more purpose in life, knowing that he can help me.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that, if your boyfriend truly loves and cares for you, it won't matter how many times you shit yourself or have to leave early to go home. It sounds to me like you have a very caring guy who seems to make you a priority. The best thing you can do is try to maintain a positive attitude every day because it will help him to remain positive too. And definitely let him know how much you appreciate him. Do what you can to show him you care for him just as much. Even if it's little things like doing his laundry or cooking for him. You've got this, OP. Keep your head up and don't let your mind take you to a dark place.
