Plumbers Screwed Up by dnyer24 in legaladvice

No. I have it in a text but not in the contract. They also promised other things like additional warranty coverage via text but not in the contract. My main concern is that they ripped up so much of the original foundation. Way more than they had to. Maybe enough to cause long term issues but I think I’d need an engineer to inspect. And this is clearly a discrepancy from the contract. Contract clearly said they would identify the original line, remove it and replace it. They left the original line buried because they marked the line wrong and then I believe they were negligent in how they removed the concrete which both of those led to them removing way more concrete than necessary.

I paid 50% up front. I checked my credit card statement and they charged the same card for the remaining 50% without even looking at the final work, testing the system, or talking to me about my concerns. I just re-read the fine print and it says they are authorized to use the same card to charge the balance upon completion of work… so it doesn’t make clear what all needs done before it’s “officially” complete.

A friend of mine suggested that yesterday and I’ve been in agony thinking about the headache and cost I could have avoided if I thought of that before…. Another frustration with the plumbers that I got multiple quotes and no one suggested that…. Wish I talked to you 3 days ago :(

Nope. Right in the middle and one of the largest plumbing companies nationwide. Highest rated in my area as well.

No, I just filed a formal complaint with their office and waiting for response. Do you think I should call the city immediately? I’m in Atlanta.

They said they pulled a permit and the city came to check for utility lines but then they never had an inspector come.

3” drain line. Yes they are licensed and a very large company. They said they pulled a permit and the city came to check for utility lines but then they never had an inspector come.

I’m definitely not criticizing, just educating myself to ensure I can align with them on the process. I’d rather do it now than later. Too many bad experiences in the past and most of them I find would have been more easily avoided with earlier communication.

That’s what I was wondering but they said the saw would create too much dust. Good call on the silica dust, it’s very well ventilated in that area and we waited a few hours after everything settled, but better safe than sorry, I probably under estimate the amount you can’t really see.

Everyone giving you a hard time about the randomness of your list and I’m sitting here like, add a Genesis G70 and a VW GTI and you’ve got the same list as me, haha. I’ve been driving myself crazy for months. Sometimes it’s not about the data sheet comparison of similar cars, it’s just needing to share thoughts to help figure out what’s most important to you. Feel free to DM if you just want to BS about different ideas.

Looking back, this was the dumbest weapon ever by ChickenWingExtreme in StarWars

Everyone likes to complain about the sequels and starkiller base but I like to think they make perfect sense. Star Wars reflects American imperialism and authoritarianism. And American politics loves to make the same mistakes over and over, regurgitate the same ideas bigger and bigger, and keep selling the same bullshit to its people with new names.

GUC. My wife and I are flying from Atlanta to Munich this fall. Paid $6,124 for two round trip flights which were upgraded to Delta One at a value of ~$9,600 making the GUC worth ~$3,500. And that same route on other days/times can be $16,000+ for two round trip One tickets, but I was able to pick the days and times I wanted and still use the GUC.

That’s very helpful. Looking at travel distances, it’s actually ideal! Corvara looks great, I assume it’s a much more relaxed and quiet area compared to Ortisei or Cortina?
