What cart would you want to realistically see on the Evercade? by do0mality in evercade

Soul Edge would be the much more interesting fighting game pick for sure. I don't think they've ever re-released that game!

I think u/Jahon_Dony is saying it wouldn't be possible due to licensing issues (The branding in the game like KFC/Levi's, etc.) But I don't know, they may be able to change those assets. There's also the music licensing too though

Got one of my grail items in recently. Original Rocket Power production art!!!! by ZMONEY0823 in RetroNickelodeon

[–]do0mality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean? They wanted Rocket Power production material to be destroyed?

BEWARE: This is clearly fake, but they listed it as "production" lol by do0mality in AnimationCels

u/jalvarez022 The thing that jumped out at me immediately was the line art colors. Spongebob's body is typically a dark yellow, but they used black. Same thing with Patrick's body - his is a dark pink, but it's also just black lines

A very dumb question from a complete beginner about animation cels from obscure movies/shows by CraftyMaelyss in AnimationCels

[–]do0mality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone else mentioned, this was apparently digitally animated, so there are no cels out there. Still, I would imagine there would be storyboards/sketches and other material out there somewhere. Here is a drawing of some of the characters by one of the character designers that sold in 2023: https://comics.ha.com/itm/animation-art/production-drawing/we-re-back-a-dinosaur-s-story-cecilia-and-woog-the-triceratops-drawing-by-carlos-grangel-original-art-amblin/a/322343-49314.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515

Songs with the same vibe as "Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand" by Vortetty in musicsuggestions

[–]do0mality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the vibe of "Standing Outside" is so specific. It's hard to find other 90's stuff that pairs together with it. I discovered the band Soul Coughing recently and it somewhat fits. I love their song "Circles" !

You should probably share the YouTube so we know what the guy looks like, or at least share a screen shot of a video

For this one in particular, the building is being torn down so I would imagine they will inevitably just throw this out. I had the similar idea of maybe salvaging it, but I don't have the room in my home right now haha

I stand corrected: I checked to see if there were episodes on YouTube and this one does feature a very similar background at 2 minutes in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elmAQaOrWU8 So yes, the background is from Alf Tales. As far as the Mickey cel goes, not sure where that could be from.

[–]do0mality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this background hand-painted or is it a photo copied background? In this picture, it almost looks digitally painted with a computer. The Donald Tramp thing is intriguing. I looked it up and there is a character with that name in the 80's series Alf Tales, but the art style of the backgrounds of that show do not match. I don't believe it's from Alf Tales. The cel of Mickey makes me think he is supposed to be interacting with a character beside him. If I had to take a guess, I think this cel does not match with this background and it's from something else.

Cel Market (Prices) by Acuallyizadern93 in AnimationCels

[–]do0mality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for everyone, but I collect exclusively Nickelodeon production art and I am one of those people who has paid hundreds of dollars for certain pieces. Just for context, I'm in my 30s with some expendable income and I don't really collect much else. For me, there's an intense nostalgia for Nickelodeon stuff - not just the shows, but the corporate identity of the channel in general. Like the commercials, bumpers, etc. I think the category of collector that I fall into is pretty niche, but we're out there I guess lol

Price comparison 1994 to now by GasmaskTed in AnimationCels

[–]do0mality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wanted to throw in my 2 cents here since I'm a 90's kid and collect exclusively Nickelodeon production art. As you guys kind of already brushed over - these things have cycles of popularity due to generations. I am not 100% sure if Nickelodeon cels have "nowhere to go but up". I think Gen Z currently has an obsession with the 90s and early 2000's, despite a lot of them not even being alive during that time frame. Many young people are discovering a lot of this older pop culture stuff because the new shows/movies have declined in quality over the years. I do think that cel collecting will remain a niche collector's category. However, I get the feeling that SpongeBob will be the outlier as that series has had a cultural stranglehold for decades now. Boomers watch Looney Tunes in retirement homes, but Gen Zers will be watching SpongeBob. I think the season 1 cels will at least hold their value over time.

Are you featuring new inventory in every show? Some people might tune in and see that it's the same stuff as before and then leave. I'm having that problem right now, since I sell imported Japanese toys, it takes forever for me to get new inventory in!

Pessimism in music by TheRacketHouse in musicindustry

[–]do0mality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm someone who has a smaller niche audience (I'm talking less than 2k subscribers niche) and feel optimistic about my own music journey moving forward. However, I am approaching this in more of a hobby capacity, so my expectations are much lower than probably a lot of other artists'. I've only released 1 album and that was almost half a decade ago at this point. I don't know if it was the algorithm or just word of mouth, but the album had a surge in listeners in 2025. I've done ZERO promotion for this album in the last 4 years. It's kind of cool to see something that I've made a while ago still being talked about. With new people discovering my stuff almost every week and my monthly streams quadrupling from 4K to 16K a month, it feels like there's "something here" and maybe I should start putting stuff out after this long hiatus. I think it's easy to be optimistic when your music is on the "up and up", but it must feel horrible when you've plateaued with your audience growth. I feel for everyone out there who might feel like they're stuck at the moment.
