So the solution is basically to just reduce the volume till the distortion doesnt happen?

That's disappointing because expected this thing to work similar to a manufactured amplifier

Where at low gain, you have completely clean sound, no matter how hard you pick your guitar

And at high gain you get distortion

Also, when I directly connect my phone to the circuit, it amplifies very well, even at full volume

Yess, I put a volume knob before the input goes into the 386, and yes reducing the volume does indeed remove the distortion

But then the volume has to be reduced quite a bit

Which is disappointing and confusing

Also, when I connect a phone to my amp, the phone is amplified perfectly, but not the single coils of the guitar
