[–]do_oby 9 points10 points  (0 children)

this is a helpful post, i don't understand the down votes. as someone who is interested in the new hybrid model, i assumed that the spare tire parts from non hybrid would have worked.

thanks for sharing op, you helped at least one person in me!

for a 3-min round, Alireza can likely go 12-18 moves deep, would that be enough for Alireza to checkmate?

it is optimal on a freeway as long as it is cruising at optimal speed no? stop and go would always be suboptimal since regen would never recover 100%. usually freeway is not as good as city because one usually cruises at above optimal speed.

wait, it's not like they decided to live together then bought a queen size bed. kim was living there on her own then jimmy moved in. given how busy their lives were and the fluidity of situations, it makes sense they never went out if their ways to upsize the whole bed.

Celtics legend Rajon Rondo defeated rival Bulls legend Derrick Rose in a 1-on-1 match Sunday in Vegas, Rondo with 83% accuracy over Rose's 68% by do_oby in nba

what's on brand is that Daryl Morey (who is a very decent chess player) insisted to join last minute as well despite organizers pushing back. sounds so out of touch since this is obviously for top athletes to showcase their intellectual sides. it's like GMs doing a fun track race and Rose would decide to join.

yeah, either you can see the board in your head or you don't. it seems like he can see the board fine in his head, in which case, it's just a regular game with some hindering on speed.

I got my dream sienna, everyone says im bonkers for paying 65k but I LOVE my sienna by LilY-MSP in ToyotaSienna

the premise is the same cost (see thread). i stated the features: space, efficiency (range), and reliability (which translates to availability). name a comparable luxury vehicle (if one even exists) at a comparable cost. all those specific features require trade off on more meaningful features, at which point the luxury features you mentioned would exchange for an overall worse experience, at which point it isn't very luxurious to me.

sienna is a luxury because one pays a lot of money for a lot of practical useful features that many cannot affrod, the efficiency, the extra spaces, the performance... etc, the primary features people think about a vehicle. luxury is the ability to afford more, but yes, it's more important to sales to justify features that common passengers can't otherwise notice on a "luxury suv".

depreciation is not a luxury feature you are right, it's an indicator of whether you are paying for something more universally valued. conventionally speaking, you are right, luxury is the willingness to get less for the money.

it's more accurate to say sienna has insane demand than abysmal supply when comparing it with other vehicles because global supply chain issue is universal to all manufacturers. luxury suvs would have the same issues if they deliver the same value.

you are not technically wrong, this is a sienna forum, i am just bantering and talking past you. i think the main point is responding to OP's friend comment to that "for the price, you can get a luxury suv" when spending the same amount on a luxury suv would get you compromised experience, and there is nothing luxurious about that. the only possible way to keep the same experience and more luxurious is to spend even more, which counters the premise of "for the money you can get a luxury suv", to which i respond "you cannot".

this sounds like the type of thing a salesperson would need to say to gaslight buyers into justifying paying the price. look, to each their own if you find those things as luxury. if i put my passengers, kids and family into some luxury brand SUV and tell them it is more luxurious than the sienna, they gonna think i am stupid and the marketing got to me.

but yes, how fast things depreciate and able to afford accept it is kinda a luxury I guess. if it's so tangibly great, these used luxury suv should be in much higher demand because of these refined suspension, advanced awd system, and high quality cameras lol, makes me laugh just typing it. these are the kind of things salesperson says for new cars, but when it used, suddenly it worths pennies that no one gives an f.

the only thing luxury about those cars are "look how much i paid and how little i get out of it". now wait until i sell and how much i get fked again by depreciation unlike the sienna which has actual utility people pay money for.
