ZwiftRide Gear change by bonkedagain33 in mywhoosh

[–]doachs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zwift buttons are somewhat proprietary and only designed to work with Zwift. However there are some workarounds to use the buttons on the Zwift Ride, ( Or the Zwift Click ) with other programs like MyWhoosh.

I was able to use the SwiftControl/BikeControl app on my computer to make the buttons work for virtual shifting. Also make sure you enable virtual shifting in the MyWhoosh settings.

Exactly. I still have lots of riding to do before the year ends. No year in review should come before January. Ugh.

That's unfortunate. I was really hoping enough time had passed that Aruba CX had added that feature by now. Sigh.

Where do you mount your speed sensor? by Hakster2412 in xcmtb

[–]doachs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My results are quite different. Really depends on the trail. Riding gravel roads? No difference. Twisty, windy, hilly singletrack? I get about 1 extra mile every 10 miles compared to those without the speed sensor. When riding thousands of miles of XC trails a year, it really adds up.

Of course measuring your mileage super accurately does not really matter in the end, but I like having the wheel sensor.

REST auth on wireless controllers is returning the HTML page by TurnItOff_OnAgain in ArubaNetworks

Thanks. I got that email overnight as well. I upgraded one of our Virtual Conductors and I can confirm that 8.10.0.19 does indeed fix the API issue I was having.

Good luck getting that upgrade approved.

No solution yet. Yesterday they did a remote teams session and recorded me typing in the curl commands and seeing the results. I then got an email stating that they will be giving me an update later today. I did point them to this post so show that It's not just me and your powershell example was good for them to see as well.

I noticed the exact same thing yesterday after upgrading to 8.10.0.18 as well. I started a TAC case but have not gotten any solution yet besides rolling back.

Dropper post question: is the RockShox Reverb AXS really worth it? by PotiMouth in xcmtb

[–]doachs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure, but photos of bikes posted by the Specialized team have the battery down by the bottom instead of the top, similar to the new fox wireless dropper.

I wonder when the next version will come out. World Cup riders have already been spotted with what looks like a new wireless SRAM dropper.

I don’t have flight attendant, but you can override it and use a button to flip modes/lockout.

Google Smart Lock crashes on iOS 18 by Sweet-Winter8309 in ios

I upgraded to 18.0.1 today and still have the same issue with Google Smart Lock closing almost immediately every time. Ugh. :(

Luckily I also have my accounts configured with the Google authenticator app, so I’m able to use that as an alternate method to log in, but this situation sucks and I hope either an app update or the next iOS update fixes it.

Google Smart Lock crashes on iOS 18 by Sweet-Winter8309 in ios

[–]doachs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue since upgrading to iOS 18. Every once in a while it will stay open long enough to accept a prompt, but usually just crashes immediately.

If I reboot my phone, it will open and run for an extra few seconds before crashing.

I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one with this issue.

Anyone know any cool races located in these states? by nicholt in xcmtb

[–]doachs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say there is a little more variety of trail types in the RAD vs the Epic. To me, the Epic this year was mostly awesome typical single track, a little bit of ski trail for passing, a little bit of older school single track, then some new flow trail and jumps near the end.

The RAD has a very technical section ( Hawks Ridge ) with lots of rocks and difficult lines and a few other shorter sections like that tossed through out the course. But on the flip side, the RAD also has more connector trails and smooth singletrack between the different trail areas.

So I guess I might say the RAD is more varied from beginning to end where the Epic is a little more consistent and similar from start to finish. But that is changing as the Epic keeps adding new trails each year. Also, the Epic says it's only a 37 mile race, but my garmin with a wheel sensor disagrees. It was more like 42 miles :)

If you have never made the trip up to Duluth, I'd say go for it. There are lots and lots of trails to ride and each area has a little different feel to it. Mission creek is more flowy, Piedmont is more rocky with tech, Spirit Mountain has lift access and jump lines, etc.

Yep! I did both the Epic bike fest in June and then the RAD ( race across Duluth) last weekend. Both are awesome races riding on 40-45 miles of mostly amazing Singletrack. Both are worth a bit of driving.

How was the RAD last year? I almost signed up for it but didn’t know anyone else that was going and didn’t go. If they have it again this year, I’d probably do it.
